Listen to this chapter:

Unexpectedly, someone took notice today.

Matthew questioned, “Have you been experiencing worsening vision lately? For instance, does your sight often blur?”

Kyrie remained skeptical. “Isn’t it just a problem with my vision?”

Matthew shook his head. “No, it’s your body that’s failing. You have at most half a month to live. Go home and buy a coffin.”

Kyrie looked like he’d lost his soul. He stared blankly, muttering, “How is that possible? My body is perfectly fine. I can’t die just yet. I just got my permanent residency, and I want to enjoy life.”

Regaining his senses, he saw Matthew about to leave. Quickly covering his wound, he knelt to block his path.

He pleaded, “Dr. Grant, don’t go. Please save me. I’ll pay you. I don’t care how much money you want, as long as you save me.”

Matthew responded coldly, “Didn’t you say traditional medicine is a scam? Why give money to a scammer?”

Kyrie quickly shook his head. He stuttered, “I–I was just speaking out of turn. I know traditional medicine has real value; Seven Stars Enterprise collects traditional medicinal formulas. They even offer millions for good formulas. The high prices prove that traditional medicine is valuable. Please, save me.”

Matthew said coldly, “Like inflammation, I can’t treat it with modern medicine. Your illness can only be cured by traditional medicine. Do you have more information about Seven Stars Enterprise?” Matthew wanted to know as much as possible about Seven Stars Enterprise, sensing future dealings with them.

Kyrie despaired. “I really don’t know. Seven Stars Enterprise is very mysterious. I don’t know their address, how many people work there, or who the leaders are. I really don’t know anything. Please save me. I’ll give you all my money as long as you save me!”

Matthew spat, “I like money, but I love the idea of you dying!” He then kicked Kyrie aside and pushed open the door to leave.

Kyrie was utterly despondent, staring blankly ahead. He didn’t even notice the bleeding from his wound.

Johan slowly got up. “Mr. Parker, let’s… let’s pretend we never met. Don’t contact me again.”

Kyrie returned to his senses. “Y–You don’t want to make money?”

Johan shook his head. “I want to make money, but I don’t want to end up like you. You always opposed using traditional medicine. If traditional medicine were to vanish, no one can treat us when we get sick.”

With that, he dashed out as if escaping a plague.

Kyrie was so furious he slapped himself, blaming himself for ruining his own future.

When Rachel saw Matthew approaching, she asked worriedly, “How did it go? Did you get the article retracted?”

Matthew nodded, but his brows were still furrowed. “The article has been retracted.”

Rachel was puzzled. “Then why are you frowning?”

Matthew wanted to say that while a small problem was solved, a larger one had appeared. With an enemy like Seven Stars Enterprise lurking, Wealthwave Group was in for a tough fight. Telling Rachel would only add to her worries and make her colder.

He shrugged. “I solved your problem. Shouldn’t you show some appreciation?”
