Chapter 377 A Perfect Opportunity

Jonathan immediately understood what Sierra meant. His first instinct was to object, but then he remembered what sheโ€™d said earlier. After a moment of thought, he nodded.

โ€œAlright. Iโ€™ll come up with a plan.โ€

Rather than constantly staying on guard, it was better to deliberately expose a weakness and lure the snake out of hiding.

If it wasnโ€™t Quinn, then fine. But if it was, this would force her to show her true colors.

So just a couple of days later, Quinn received word that Jonathan was going on a business trip.

โ€œWhy are you suddenly heading overseas?โ€ she asked.

โ€œSomeone I hired said theyโ€™ve found a lead on Timothy. I need to check it out. I canโ€™t keep sitting back and doing nothing,โ€ Jonathan replied, half-truth and half-lie.

At the mention of Timothyโ€™s name, Quinn gave a perfectly timed display of fear. She clutched Jonathanโ€™s hand.

โ€œJonathan, will it be dangerous?โ€

At that moment, she truly seemed like a concerned little sisterโ€“completely flawless.

Jonathan stared at her for a few seconds before saying, โ€œWe canโ€™t move forward until we find him.โ€

He added, โ€œBesides, I suspect what happened to Sierra last time might be connected to him too. Thatโ€™s why I have to go.โ€

He knew Timothy alone wouldnโ€™t be enough to fool Quinn, so he deliberately added Sierra to the story.

This time, Quinn didnโ€™t say anything more. She just reminded him gently, โ€œBe careful, Jonathan. Come back soon.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t worry,โ€ Jonathan said. โ€œIโ€™ll be back in no more than a week. If anything comes up while Iโ€™m gone, talk to Mateo.โ€

Then he added, โ€œAnd donโ€™t go running around.โ€

โ€œOkay, I got it.โ€

Quinn personally took Jonathan to the airport. She watched him walk through the gate, confirmed he really boarded the plane, and only then headed back.

She hadnโ€™t originally planned to make a move on Sierra so soon. But nowโ€“this was a rare opportunity.

Jonathan was too clever and always watching too closely. It was almost impossible to get to Sierra under his nose.

But now, with a chance like this, she wasnโ€™t going to let it slip through her fingers. Sheโ€™d had enough.

Every time she saw how much Jonathan cared about Sierra, it made her want to skin her alive.

Why was it that the one person she could never win over gave all his attention to Sierra so effortlessly?

Once Sierra was gone, she would be the most important person in Jonathanโ€™s life again.

After Jonathan had โ€œleft,โ€ Sierra kept going to school at the usual times, with a driver picking her up and dropping her off each day.

Her schedule was consistentโ€“everything happened like clockwork.

Quinn knew this was the perfect time to strike. She hadnโ€™t initially wanted Sierra dead. But after last time, she realized Sierra mattered far more to Jonathan than sheโ€™d ever expected.

Just trying to separate them clearly wasnโ€™t enough anymore. This time, she wanted Sierra dead.

What she didnโ€™t know was that the moment her โ€œorderโ€ went live, it was traced.

Mateo, with dark circles under his eyes, spoke up. โ€œThis oneโ€™s definitely from Quinn.โ€

There was no name on the post, but the route, timing, and license plate all matched Sierraโ€™s car.

Heโ€™d been monitoring the dark web for days. There were tons of similar sites, and he couldnโ€™t risk missing anything. Heโ€™d barely sleptโ€“but luckily, heโ€™d caught this one.

It was also further proof that Quinn really was involved.

Mateo felt conflicted. After all, theyโ€™d grown up with Quinn. Who wouldโ€™ve thought sheโ€™d turn out like this? Or maybe sheโ€™d always been this way, and theyโ€™d never noticed.

What kind of person could hide like that for so many years?

Feeling a little overwhelmed, he glanced at Jonathan. Heโ€™d expected disappointment, but Jonathan was surprisingly calmโ€“quickly making arrangements to keep Sierra safe.

Someone had already accepted the job. He couldnโ€™t allow Sierra to get hurtโ€“not even a little.

The next day, Sierra followed her routine as usual and got into the car.

That day, Quinn was in an unusually good mood. She even turned to Dora and said, โ€œYou havenโ€™t called Ms. Sierra in days. Want to talk to her today?โ€

Of course Dora did. She looked at Quinn eagerly.

A flicker of mockery flashed in Quinnโ€™s eyes.

She had no idea what made Sierra so special. Jonathan was one thing, but even this little kid couldnโ€™t get enough of her.
