Chapter 132: Regret

Despite facing more than ten men, Jared remained calmly seated, barely moving a muscle. He suddenly grabbed some peanuts from the table and flung them toward them.

The men, seeing Jared throw peanuts, scoffed and didn't bother to dodge, assuming harmlessness. They soon regretted their assumption. Upon impact, the peanuts felt like bullets. One by one, they trembled before collapsing, each with a bleeding cut on their hand.

Rhino stared, dumbfounded, as his subordinates howled in pain. "Wh-what happened?" he gulped nervously.

No one answered. Even Yolanda was stupefied; she hadn't expected Jared's power. She turned to Hilda, seeking an explanation.

Hilda was equally astonished. She'd never known Jared could incapacitate ten men with peanuts. It was incomprehensible.

Jared stared at Rhino and asked, "Are you still planning to kill me?"

Rhino, speechless at Jared's display, took a moment to regain his composure. After several deep breaths, he said, "Kid, I'll admit you know a thing or two, but do you know who I am? I'm a member of the Crimson Dragon Gang, and this street belongs to us. You've made enemies of the entire gang."

"So what?" Jared sneered. "If you're so tough, why don't you all come at me?"

Rhino's face reddened. He pulled out his phone and made a call. Although no one knew whom he called, they assumed it was for reinforcements. After the call, a smug smile spread across his face. "Kid, Mr. Lawson's coming. You're doomed. Even with nine lives, you can't escape."

Rhino had called Felix, the Crimson Dragon Gang's acting leader in Steven's absence.

Jared laughed. He'd just left Felix's office; this was unexpected. "Perfect. I'll wait. Let's see what this Mr. Lawson can do," he remarked contemptuously.

Yolanda's face paled at the mention of Felix. Leaning toward Hilda, she whispered, "Hilda, persuade Jared to leave. Mr. Lawson is Steven's lieutenantโ€”ruthless. Jared will die if he stays."

Frightened, Hilda nodded and approached Jared. "Jared, we should go. It's late."
