Chapter 203: Going Away

Two days passed in the blink of an eye. Jared, though unconcerned about his directorship, longed to explain Josephine's situation to his parents. He hoped their agreement to let him live in Dragon Bay would expedite his training. His current residence lacked spiritual energy, hindering his cultivation.

However, witnessing his parents and Hilda's mother, Chloe, happily discussing his relationship with Hilda, Jared couldn't spoil their joy.

That afternoon, Gary called with news that shocked Jared: Hilda and her family had moved. Rushing home, he found Hilda's house locked and empty. Gary then produced a letter.

"Jared, this is a letter from Hildaโ€ฆ"

The letter revealed Hilda's inability to cope with seeing Jared daily, prompting her and her mother to move to relatives elsewhere. She also explained her relationship with Josephine to Jared's parents.

Jared clenched his fists. I don't want to hurt Hilda, he thought. Perhaps this is for the best. Continuing to see each other daily would have been too difficult for her.

Hannah sighed, "Ahโ€ฆ Hilda is such a pitiable child. It's unfortunate you weren't fatedโ€ฆ" She clearly knew the letter's contents.

Gary then spoke, "Jared, why didn't you tell us? If you were starting a relationship with Josephine, your mother and I have no objections. As long as she's sincere, her status doesn't matter. We were just worried you'd be deceived. Invite her to dinner tonight. Your mother and I must apologize. Out of kindness, she offered us a home, and we misjudged her."

Hannah added, "That's right. It was wrong of your father and me to listen to gossip. She lent us such a good homeโ€”how could she be a fraudster? We misunderstood her kindness. You must invite her for dinner so I can apologize formally. As a wealthy woman, she didn't despise us for being poor, yet we mistook her kindness for a hidden agenda."

"All right. I'll invite her tonight," Jared nodded.

That evening, Josephine arrived at Jared's, joyful and bearing gifts. The Chances had prepared a sumptuous dinner. At the table, Josephine said to Gary and Hannah, "Mr. and Mrs. Chance, I think you should move to Dragon Bay. The atmosphere and air quality are better thereโ€ฆ"

Gary remained silent, but Hannah replied, "Josephine, we'll do as you say. From now on, my husband and I will listen to you, and not othersโ€ฆ" She deeply regretted believing the gossip and misinterpreting Josephine's generosity.

"Great! You can move tomorrow," Josephine exclaimed happily.

Jared, relieved his parents agreed, looked forward to resuming his long-delayed cultivation.

The next morning, he moved them to Dragon Bay. Sensing the spiritual energy on the hilltop, he immediately began to cultivate.

At noon, Josephine called, saying Walter wished to discuss the spiritual brush with Jared. Thrilled at the prospect of healing his mother's eyes, Jared hurried to the Sullivan residence, meeting Tommy there.
