Chapter 216: I Am Your Master

"Jared! You're alive!" Josephine cried, sprinting to him and hugging him tightly. She ignored everyone else, her grip unrelenting. His body was still cold, but she clung to him.

"Let go! You're suffocating me!" Jared coughed, urging her to release him.

Startled, Josephine quickly let go. Jared was unharmed, even smirking. Josephine glared at him and kicked him hard.

Meanwhile, everyone rejoiced at Jared's survival, knowing Falcon was defeated.

"Kid, how are you still alive after absorbing that frosty energy?" Falcon asked, bewildered.

"I am your master!" Jared's face contorted with rage. He'd heard Falcon injure Tommy and insult Josephine while Jared was incapacitated by the frosty energy.

Falcon's expression darkened. "You're asking for death!"

"Give me the Starry Compass, and I'll grant you a quick death," Jared said, beckoning dismissively.

Falcon's face fell. He clutched the compass tightly, refusing to relinquish it.

"I gave you a chance," Jared said indifferently, his eyes blazing with murderous intent.

"Even if you survived the frosty energy, you're no match for this compass! Stop bragging!" Falcon yelled, radiating killing intent. He hesitated, however, acknowledging Jared's unusual resilience.

Erasmus, though heavily injured, struggled to his feet. "Mr. Chance, thank you for saving my daughter. I'll hold him off; you escape!"

Jared stopped him. "No need to die for a piece of trash who relies on a magical item!" he said, giving Falcon a contemptuous thumbs-down.

"I'll kill you!" Falcon roared, his killing intent intensifying, the Starry Compass glowing faintly. Erasmus, Walter, and the others were shaken by the sight.

Jared merely laughed, grabbed a chair, and sat down. "Any skills besides using that trinket?" he asked impassively.

"Don't provoke me! I'll let you absorb more frosty energy. Let's see how long you last!" Falcon unleashed another blast of frosty energy from the compass.

The room plunged to freezing temperatures. Everyone shivered except Jared, who sat unmoved as the frosty energy enveloped him. Frost formed on his hair again.

"This time, I'll freeze you to pieces!" Falcon crowed triumphantly.

But the frost vanished instantly. The frosty energy had no effect.

"How…is this possible?" Falcon exclaimed, utterly shocked, releasing the remaining energy.
