Chapter 238: The City of Herbs
"I need a list of herbs. They're common and inexpensive. Please purchase them. I've also made some revitalizing pills; sell them. You can set the price."
After Jared finished speaking, Tommy instructed his men to take paper to record the herbs. Jared quickly listed over ten ingredientsโall readily available.
"Did you get them all?" he asked.
"Yes, my lord. They're all common herbs. Horington's pharmacy carries them, but not in bulk. I'll send men to Yeringham. They have a large medicinal base there, with cheaper herbs. This will save money!"
Since learning of Jared's financial needs, Tommy had become more frugal.
"Yeringham?" Jared mused, remembering the city located several hundred kilometers southwest of Horington. It was the country's largest herb producer, virtually supplying the entire nation's herbs, earning it the nickname "The City of Herbs."
"I'm not sure if the City of Herbs has all the herbs I need."
Jared's current needs were for rare, expensive herbs. The ginseng and reishi mushrooms for his energy-condensing pills required specimens at least three hundred years old, found only in remote mountains, making them difficult to obtain. Snow lotus, crucial for maximizing the pills' effect, was even harder to find. He knew he couldn't rush this; he needed to build wealth first before acquiring these herbs.
"My lord, Yeringham has an auction house specializing in rare treasures, including herbs. I'll keep an eye on it and inform you of anything you need," Tommy whispered.
"Okay. That's all for now," Jared replied, nodding.
After giving his instructions, Jared left Meadow Restaurant for the Sullivan residence. He had completed William's pills and wanted to deliver them. While his relationship with Josephine wasn't officially confirmed, William would soon be his father-in-law, making this a matter of urgency.
Tommy drove him to the Sullivan residence. Upon arrival, they saw a black Audi with the license plate A00001โthe Horington mayor's car.
"Holy sh*t! The mayor's here?" Tommy exclaimed.
Jared was surprised but reasoned that the mayor might be discussing business with William, Horington's wealthiest man. After a brief hesitation, Jared decided to enter. William would soon be his father-in-law, and networking with influential people like the mayor could prove beneficial.
Entering the mansion, he found Josephine speaking to a young man in the courtyard. She looked unhappy.
"Frederick Lowe, don't come to my house again. People will misunderstand!" she said, her brow furrowed.
