Chapter 237: Funding Woes
Behind Tommy's restaurant stood a large stone bearing a saying Tommy had expensively commissioned. Jared pointed at it, suggesting, "Why don't you punch it?"
Without hesitation, Tommy punched the stone.
Crack!
The stone split. Tommy stared at his fist in amazement. "I must have used incredible force!" he exclaimed.
Jared patted his shoulder. "Your punch could kill a bull. Steven's Impenetrable Skill is child's play to you now. True power renders such skills meaningless!"
Tommy's excitement was palpable. "My Lord, do you have more pills? I want two more!" he pleaded. "If one pill makes me this strong, two will make me invincible!"
Jared rolled his eyes. "These pills are crafted from rare and expensive herbs. Creating one depleted my spiritual energy! I can barely give you another, let alone two!"
Tommy scratched his head sheepishly. "I got carried away. These pills could fetch tens of millions each. Martial arts are hugely popular; people spend fortunes on exotic herbs and training. Steven reportedly spent two hundred million training under Francis Yancey."
"Two hundred million?" Jared was stunned. "He spent that on such paltry skills? Tommy broke through his Impenetrable Skill with one pill! This pill is worth far more than two hundred million!"
Jared's eyes lit up, recognizing a potential income stream. "Tommy, if I make more, can you sell them?"
"My Lord, shouldn't our men take them? If you need funds, the Templar Regiment's commercial street generates substantial profits annually!" Tommy couldn't understand Jared's plan to sell such a powerful pill. "If our enemies obtain these, we're digging our own graves!"
Jared explained, "I won't sell these enhancement pills; they're too costly. I'll make revitalizing pills instead—for focus, brain health, longevity, and male virility. How much revenue does the commercial street generate annually?"
"About two hundred million," Tommy replied after a moment's thought. "Most funds the Templar Regiment; we receive about one-tenth."
Jared shook his head. "I need far more—billions, even. The raw materials alone would cost that much. Your commercial street's income would take decades!"
"Billions!" Tommy gasped. "My Lord, why so much money?"
Jared explained honestly, "I need massive spiritual energy for cultivation. Even Dragon Summit's energy is insufficient. I need funds to acquire valuable herbs and make more enhancement pills to accelerate my cultivation."
Tommy nodded, then frowned. "I fear even the Sullivan family's assets wouldn't suffice."
Jared glared. "What do you mean? Do I look like I'd live off a woman's money?"
Tommy quickly shook his head. "No, of course not! The Dragon Sect overlord would never do that!"
