Chapter 281: Kidnapped

After spending the last few days with Tyrion, Sandy felt her status had improved, leading her to despise Leyton. Leyton, stunned, inwardly cursed Sandy but nonetheless gave her Josephineโ€™s number.

Sandy called immediately. Josephine, sitting in the courtyard, felt bored and unhappy. "It's been so many days, and Jared hasn't come once. Is he still upset with me about the other day?" She was tornโ€”she wanted to find Jared, but also hoped he would seek her out first.

Then, her phone rang. Thinking it was Jared, she answered happily, only to see an unknown number.

"Hello?"

"Josephine, this is Sandy. I'm at 17 Phoenix Road. I need to talk to you about Jared!" Sandy's haughty tone revealed her lack of respect for Josephine, a stark contrast to her previous demeanor. Her time with Tyrion had emboldened her.

"What? Just because you tell me to go, I should obey? Who do you think you are?" Josephine was furious.

"Josephine, if you're scared, don't come!" Sandy hung up before Josephine could respond.

Josephine's face flushed. "What's the big deal? Let's see what you're up to!" She drove to Phoenix Road.

Sandy was waiting. Josephine asked, "So, what about Jared do you want to tell me?"

Sandy grinned cruelly. "I want to tell you that Jared is about to die!"

Josephine's heart pounded. "Stop talking nonsense! Why would Jared be dead?"

"She's not lying. Jared is going to die very soon because I am going to kill him!"

Leyton appeared with two Whitaker family bodyguards.

"What are you doing?" Josephine recoiled, sensing danger.

"You'll find out soon enough!" Leyton smirked. "Grab her!"

The bodyguards subdued Josephine, bagged her head, threw her in the trunk of a car, and drove off. Sandy smirked as they left.

Meanwhile, at his mansion atop Dragon Summit, Jared was busy making revitalizing pills when his phone rang. It was William, sounding worried. "Jared, is Josephine with you?"

"No, she isn't. What happened?" Jared frowned.

"Bad news. Josephine is missing. I called her, but there was no answer. Her car isn't home. She's never disappeared like this before!" William said anxiously.

"Mr. Sullivan, don't worry. I'll be right there!"

Jared rushed to the Sullivan residence, calling Josephine repeatedly without success. Uneasy, he called Tommy.

"Tommy, get every available man and search the entire city for Josephine! Keep an eye out for her car!" Jared instructed coldly.
