Chapter 29: Making Horington Pay

Glen's contorted face terrified Frederick, who eventually nodded.

"You bastard!" Glen roared. "I kept you in the house to reflect on your actions, and you learned nothing! I'm going to kill you!" He raised a chair and smashed it onto Frederick's body, shattering the furniture.

Jared was shocked. He hadn't expected Glen to punish his son so violently.

"Stop it, Glen! You'll kill him!" Helen desperately tried to intervene.

Glen ignored her, continuing to beat Frederick until he cried out in pain.

"I'll take responsibility, Mr. Chance," the older man said. "I'll protect you from the Whitaker family."

"I'll handle the Whitakers," Jared replied, glancing at the bloody Frederick. "Your punishment of your son is sufficient."

Jared had been furious, but his anger subsided upon witnessing Glen's actions. Frederick, he realized, had good parents.

Leaving Glen's house, Jared returned to the Sullivan residence, knowing Josephine needed comfort.

That night, at Horington Hospital, Kane Whitaker, head of the Whitaker family, arrived with ten medical experts, including a leading specialist. His expression darkened as he saw his son, Tyrion, lying injured in bed. The severity of the injuries appalled him.

"Dad, you're finally here! Look at my leg! I'm crippled!" Tyrion cried.

"Be a man and stop crying!" Kane snapped. "Do you think you're invincible? Why did you kidnap a member of the Sullivan family?" He clearly knew the whole story.

Tyrion was speechless, shocked by his father's rebuke. A flicker of pain crossed Kane's face; his son was his pride and joy.

"Get me the hospital director!" Kane ordered.

A subordinate quickly brought the director.

"You're the director?" Kane asked coldly.

"Yes, Mr. Whitaker," the trembling director replied.

"My son's leg?"

"It was crushed," the director explained carefully. "The bone is irreparable. He'll need a cane for life."

"Useless!" Kane slapped the director. "Fix my son's leg! Or I'll kill your family!"

The director knelt, begging, "We lack the equipment and specialists! Send your son to a larger hospital, even overseas. Killing me won't help!"

Seeing the director's genuine despair, Kane relented. "Prepare a car. We're taking my son to Summerbank for treatment."

Soon, Tyrion was gone. Kane gazed at the Horington night, muttering, "Horington will pay for this."

The revised passage removes the unnecessary website promotion, corrects grammatical errors (e.g., tense consistency, subject-verb agreement), improves sentence structure for clarity, and replaces informal language with more appropriate alternatives. The use of stronger verbs and more descriptive language also enhances the narrative.
