“Stop him!” Lucy screamed.

Her two bodyguards lunged at Jared, attempting to block him, though they knew they were no match. Jared deftly dodged their attacks, seizing their wrists. He activated his Focus Technique, his diaphragm becoming a vortex that drained their life force.

As they felt their energy draining, the bodyguards struggled, but to no avail. Within seconds, they were desiccated corpses.

“W-What happened?” Kane gasped.

“G-Ghost! You’re a ghost! You’re not human!” Lucy shrieked, pointing at the mummified bodies.

Jared looked coldly at Kane and Lucy. “Where is the girl you kidnapped?”

“G-Girl! S-She’s in the… in the other mansion!” Lucy stammered, pointing a trembling finger.

“Take me there,” Jared snapped.

“O-Okay,” she whispered, her earlier arrogance gone.

Kane and Lucy led Jared to Yasmin, trembling too much to attempt escape. Initially, they’d believed their martial arts skills would be sufficient, but their earlier encounter had quickly disabused them of that notion.

Reaching the room, Lucy opened the door. Yasmin, who had been crying, looked up. Seeing Jared, relief flooded her face.

“Jared…” she whispered, running to him.

“Thank you for helping Josephine. I’m sorry you had to go through this,” Jared said sincerely.

Lucy, confused, remained silent.

“Jared, she’s here and unharmed. Let’s call it even. Let us go, and we’ll do anything you want,” Kane pleaded, his face contorted with agony.

“Do you think I believe you?” Jared sneered.

Before Kane could react, Jared punched him, killing him instantly. Blood splattered across Lucy’s face.

“Y-You…” Lucy gasped, hatred and anger blazing in her eyes.

“Don’t worry. I know you want to look pretty, so I won’t blow your head off. I’ll let you die beautifully,” Jared said, noting her face mask. He grabbed her neck.

Lucy struggled, but it was useless. She stopped breathing.

Jared remained impassive, looking at Kane and Lucy’s bodies. Yasmin, terrified, trembled uncontrollably, clinging to Jared.

“Wait a little longer. Once I’m done with someone else, I’ll bring you home,” Jared assured her, entering another room.

Meanwhile, Tyrion, wearing earphones, watched videos on his phone, preparing to use the restroom after Lucy’s earlier interruption.
