Chapter 364: The Longevity Pill
Jared leaped up, kicking both men in the knees. Their kneecaps shattered, sending them crumpling to the floor with screams of pain. Without hesitation, he broke their remaining limbs, leaving them a mangled mess.
As they groaned on the ground, Jared repeated his question: "Why are you targeting Lizbeth, and where were you taking her?"
Unable to endure the pain, they confessed, "Mr. Jantz instructed us to bring Ms. Grange back to him. Heโฆ he wanted information about you."
Jared grimaced, disgusted by the Jantz family's arrogance. They had kidnapped a Department of Justice investigator with complete disregard for the law.
He glanced at the unconscious Lizbeth; a murderous glint flashed in his eyes. Gently, he lifted her, carried her to the couch, and settled her down. Then, he tossed the two men into the trunk of his car and drove to the Jantz house.
Loud, harrowing screams emanated from a room inside the Jantz residence. Between the girls' cries, a man's sadistic laughter could be heard. Two Jantz bodyguards stood guard outside, horrified by the sounds within.
"Who would have guessed a man like Master Venicus has such a sickening fetish?" one bodyguard whispered.
"Hush!" hissed his partner, panicked. "Are you courting death? If Mr. Jantz hears you, he'll silence you and your whole family!"
The first bodyguard fell silent, terrified. The agonizing sounds continued for an indeterminate time before an eerie silence descended.
"Men, get them out!" Master Venicus's voice boomed from the room.
The bodyguards rushed inside. The sight that greeted them was horrifying: the two girls were dead, their naked bodies bearing appalling injuries. Even the hardened bodyguards could barely look. Averting their gaze, they quickly collected the bodies and left the room.
They encountered the butler, Leonardo, who saw the bodies and frowned. "Take them away and bury them," he instructed. "Don't breathe a word to anyone. Disobedience will have dire consequences."
"Understood!" The bodyguards nodded, quickly departing with the bodies.
Leonardo sighed, shaking his head sadly. He entered Venicus's room, where Venicus reclined on a couch, a cigarette in hand, looking satisfied.
"Master Venicus," Leonardo said respectfully, "the ingredients for the longevity pill are ready. When shall we begin?"
"Leave them there," Venicus said, waving toward a table. "What about the herbs for the Crescent Sect?"
"We're procuring them," Leonardo replied. "They should be ready in a couple of days. Mr. Jantz has arranged for us to accompany you back to the Crescent Sect, so logistics are covered."
"Tell Zachariah I'll begin the longevity pill once he has the herbs," Venicus said casually.
"Noted. I'll inform Mr. Jantz." Leonardo nodded, placing a bag of rare ingredients for the longevity pill on the table.
After leaving Venicus, Leonardo went to Zachariah's room, where Zachariah anxiously awaited.
