Chapter 363: Trespassing
Lizbeth mindlessly watched television, a diffuser filling the house with a pleasant scent. The thought of Jared staying unnerved her.
Knock, knock, knockโฆ
Someone knocked. Lizbeth assumed it was Jared. "How thoughtless of Oliver! He should have returned with you, since you don't have my keys. Thank goodness I'm home!" she grumbled, opening the door.
Instead of Jared, two unfriendly men in suits stood there.
One asked, "Are you Ms. Lizbeth Grange?"
"Yes, I am," Lizbeth nodded.
"We're from the Jantz family. Mr. Jantz would like to invite you to his place for a chat." The man's action belied his words; he reached for Lizbeth before she could respond.
Shocked, Lizbeth instinctively recoiled and tried to close the door. The men were too quick, bursting inside.
"This is trespassing! I'm with the Department of Justice; I know the law. You have no right to barge in!" Lizbeth protested angrily.
Her warning was ignored. They tried to grab her again.
Lizbeth evaded them, grabbed one man's wrist, and delivered a flying kick at the other. He expertly rolled away, however, simultaneously grabbing her ankle. She lost her balance and fell hard.
The men lifted her off the ground. [Remove the promotional text here]
"Let go of me, you jerks!" She struggled, but was no match for them.
"Ms. Grange, cooperate, and you won't be hurt. Resist, and we can't guarantee your safety," one man threatened coldly.
His ruthless expression convinced Lizbeth to stop struggling.
As they carried her out, they encountered Jared, returning from a meeting with Phoenix.
"Jared!" Lizbeth cried.
The men exchanged glances as Jaredโs scrutiny fell upon them. One launched a powerful kick at him.
"Look out! They're from the Jantz family!" Lizbeth screamed.
The man holding her struck her hard on the head, knocking her unconscious. Then he joined his partner in attacking Jared.
Jared's eyes narrowed. With a swift move, he seized both their wrists, instantly immobilizing them.
"Whatโฆ"
Stunned, the men realized their predicament. Though not the best in the Jantz family, they were a formidable team, capable of handling martial artists with internal energy. They hadn't expected such effortless incapacitation.
Crack!
Jared mercilessly broke both their wrists.
"Ahh!" They screamed in agony.
"Why are you targeting Lizbeth, and where are you taking her?" Jared demanded.
"Wewe don't know" they stammered in unison.
