Chapter 368: How Dare You
As soon as Anthony finished his sentence, Master Iron's expression darkened. He spat, "Anthony, this has nothing to do with the Department of Justice. Stay out of it, or don't blame me for treating you harshly!"
Anthony's face turned cold, fury boiling within him. How dare he be disrespected like this, especially in front of Jared? He was the head of the Department of Justice! He wouldn't have minded disrespect from the Jantz family, but this humiliation from Iron Gate Academy was unbearable.
"Master Iron," Anthony said, his voice hardening, "consider the consequences! Are you sure you want to defy the Department of Justice?"
"Hah! Try to scare me? I'll bear any consequences. I must kill him todayโฆ" Master Iron's body began to glow with golden light, as if clad in armor.
Anthony's heart leaped. He stumbled back. "Master Iron, are you really going to fight us?"
"Get out of my way, or die!" Master Iron roared, charging toward Jared.
Suddenly, a female voice cut through the air. "Master Iron, how dare youโ"
A figure appeared before Master Iron, delivering a forceful slap. Everyone froze. Master Iron, stunned, covered his face.
Dozens of men materialized, surrounding Iron Gate Academy. The figure was revealed to be Phoenix, head of the Phoenix Regiment.
"Phoenixโฆ Iron Gate Academy has no quarrel with the Phoenix Regiment. Why did you strike me?" Master Iron asked, clearly intimidated.
"Bullsh*t! Disrespect Mr. Chance again, and I'll consider it an act of war, you old fool!" Phoenix threatened, lifting her leg to kick him. Master Iron recoiled in fear.
"Mr. Chance?" Master Iron stared at Jared, bewildered. He couldn't understand Phoenix's deference.
"Master Iron, leave now. Another attempt on Mr. Chance's life, and I'll expel Iron Gate Academy from the Warriors Alliance. You'll have no place in Summerbank!" Phoenix warned fiercely.
Indignant but powerless, Master Iron complied. The Phoenix Regiment was one of the four directors of the Warriors Alliance; expulsion would be simple. Furthermore, Phoenix was far stronger than him. He fled with his men, tail between his legs.
"Mr. Chance, are you alright?" Phoenix asked, approaching Jared after chasing off Master Iron.
Jared smiled faintly and nodded. Lizbeth and Anthony watched in astonishment at Phoenix's humility.
"General Long, thank you," Jared said.
Anthony, despite his initial actions, had stood by Jared. "You're welcome. I'll take my leave now."
Anthony, embarrassed, led his men away. He'd initially believed Jared powerless, even wanting him to apologize to Master Iron. The realityโJared's influence extending to the head of the Phoenix Regimentโrevealed his own insignificance.
