Chapter 373: The Explosion Pill
At the Jantz family mansion, Zachariah stood respectfully in Venicus's room, holding a beautiful wooden box. Venicus sat on the bed, eyes closed, conjuring magic. Wisps of green flame floated around his hands.
Zachariah was amazed. Even as a master of internal energy, he'd never witnessed such a technique.
Huff!
Venicus shouted, the green flames coalescing in a deafening explosion.
Boom!
The glassware in the room rattled violently. When the smoke cleared, a green pill rested in Venicus's hand.
"This is an explosion pill," Venicus explained. "Consuming it instantly doubles your strength for three hours. Afterward, you'll return to your normal state." He casually tossed the pill to Zachariah.
"Thank you, Master Venicus," Zachariah replied, placing a wooden box on the table. "This is a thousand-year-old ginseng, as a gift."
Venicus nodded, waving Zachariah from the room. Once alone, Venicus's face lit up. He jumped from the bed, opened the box, and carefully pocketed the ginseng.
Many mages could create explosion pills, but few in the martial arts world knew this, leading them to revere mages. Their differing professions created a knowledge gap. Venicus was delighted to have acquired a thousand-year-old ginseng for such a common pill.
As Zachariah left Venicus's room, Leonardo asked, puzzled, "Mr. Jantz, you went to great lengths to find that ginseng. Why give it away?"
Zachariah exclaimed, holding the explosion pill, "What do you know? This pill will double my strength! I'll be unbeatable in the arena tomorrow! I'm not just fighting for the Whitaker family's assets; I want the entire Warriors Alliance! I want to be the leader! With this pill, everyone will obey me!"
"As expected of Mr. Jantz," Leonardo replied, surprised by Zachariah's ambition.
The next morning, crowds gathered at the arena on the outskirts of Summerbank: martial arts families from the Warriors Alliance, and many business families. Anthony, with the Department of Justice, secured the perimeter. Though the Department couldn't interfere in Warriors Alliance affairs, he was responsible for public safety.
Jared, Josephine, and Tommy, accompanied by the Phoenix Regiment, also attended. Lizbeth, an investigator with the Department of Justice, was present as well.
In the car, Jared warned Phoenix, "Don't overexert yourself against Zachariah. Kill only when necessary, and retreat if you can't. The Jantz family's days are numbered."
"Don't worry, Mr. Chance. I'm confident," Phoenix smiled, her confidence suggesting years of accumulated strength.
