Chapter 106

On the other end of the line, the woman paused before replying indifferently, "Okay, I'll let Mr. Hughes know."

After hanging up, Natalie frowned. "He didn't tell me he's changed his secretary."

Skylar, hearing Natalie's mumble, asked, "What's wrong?"

Natalie smiled. "Nothing. My husband's in a meeting; he couldn't answer. His secretary answered."

"Something's strange, though. I wonder why the previous secretary quit; he was doing quite well. Whatever, I don't care about his work matters."

"It's a pity I couldn't get immediate information about the gossip. I'll ask him tonight and then share the story about Joe and Annie with you."

"Okay, I'll wait for firsthand news," Skylar replied, smiling.

They then went shopping at the mall. Natalie bought many things, as did Skylar, who even bought an outfit for Janine. They left with arms full of bags.

Jeremy had sent the chauffeur to pick Natalie up. Skylar watched Natalie happily get into the car and then went to the parking lot.

Shortly after leaving the parking lot, she stopped at an intersection. Waiting at the traffic light, feeling stuffy, she rolled down her window.

Suddenly, she noticed someone watching her and turned.

Across the road, Joe was staring at her, looking surprised. Because her window was down, Skylar could also see Annie in the car with him.

Annie looked pretty onscreen, but in person, Skylar found her even more stunning. Her sharp features gave her the air of a wealthy woman from a prominent family.

Annie, sensing Joe's gaze, looked in Skylar's direction. She frowned, noticing Joe's prolonged stare as he waited for the light to change.

Skylar quickly looked away, pretending not to know Joe, fearing Annie's suspicion.

When the light turned green, Skylar accelerated, speeding away as if fleeing. If not for the speed limit, she would have driven much faster.

After driving a distance, Skylar chuckled at her reaction. She was Joe's legal wife, yet felt guilty seeing him with another woman. But their covert marriage required maintaining distance.

Caleb rarely visited his grandfather's workplace. Alexander had been busy lately, making him difficult to reach.

Alexander's team knew Caleb and greeted him warmly.

"Where's my grandpa?" Caleb asked.

"Mr. Gardner Senior is resting on the sixth floor."

Finding Alexander's location, Caleb immediately took the elevator to the sixth floor, where a lounge area was located.

The final sentence ("Act Fast Free Bonus Time is Running Out!") is unrelated to the story and should be removed.
