Chapter 1073

Vera's expression darkened. Joe and Lizzie had announced their engagement that day, and now Lizzie was at the Galaxy Villa. An unusual chemistry seemed to exist between them. She found Lizzie's behavior overly flirtatious, deeming her performance for Joe immediately after their engagement improper. Overwhelming jealousy and confusion churned within her.

No wonder Joe hadn't returned her calls; he was likely enjoying a private moment with Lizzie. She'd searched extensively online for information about Lizzie, even enlisting Justin's help, yet Lizzie seemed to have appeared from nowhere, her romantic history pristine and scandal-free.

"He's been hiding her all this time," Vera mused. "Does he truly care for Lizzie? What about his attentiveness to Skylar? Was it all a pretense?" Consumed by a confusing swirl of emotions, all that remained was simmering jealousy.

Frustrated, she bit her lip and called Paul. "Paul, when did Joe and Lizzie first meet?" she asked, her tone laced with an air of superiority.

"That's a private matter for Mr. Martin, and I can't disclose it," Paul replied.

Vera frowned. "You're right, it is private. But you know my relationship with Joe. This shouldn't be shared with anyone else, so why can't you tell me?"

"I'm sorry, Ms. Ruell. If you want to know, ask Mr. Martin directly. I can't disclose that information. I'm working overtime and have other matters to attend to. Goodbye." Paul's cold tone ended the call.

Vera listened to the dial tone, her expression darkening further. Paul, an ordinary employee, had dismissed her so casually. She hadn't anticipated experiencing such coldness firsthand, but today, she understood. After the engagement news, she was sure many would mock her, but she would prove them wrong.

Raising her head, she glanced at the Galaxy Villa. The violin music had ceased. Moonlight illuminated the villa, casting an enchanting glow. Vera retreated to her car and drove away reluctantly.

Ten minutes later, Lizzie emerged from the Galaxy Villa, violin in hand. As she left, she followed Skylar on Instagram. However, just as Lizzie settled into her car, Joe sent a WhatsApp message: "Unfollow Skylar."

Lizzie chuckled. "I never expected the formidable Mr. Martin to be so jealous." She replied, "I'm not unfollowing her. She enjoys my music posts. You needn't worry. Be more confident; I'm your fiancée."

She tossed her phone onto the passenger seat, accelerated, and drove away. The next day, Skylar moved out of the Galaxy Villa; after publicly announcing her separation from Joe, it was only natural.
