Chapter 1189

Ursula knew she needed to look forward. She wasn't at fault; those two monsters were.

"Ms. Sullivan, please help me," Ursula said earnestly, wiping away tears as she looked at Skylar. "I can pay you. I have the compensation they gave me."

Skylar replied, "I can help, but I need to know which park you met the old man and what he looked like."

Ursula provided the park and date. However, recalling the old man's appearance proved difficult. "I can't remember! I've forgotten what he looked like. He vaguely resembled the other old men dancing in the squareโ€”nothing special."

Skylar's expression turned serious, though she wasn't surprised. "If you can't remember, don't force it. Just give me the necklace. Afterward, leave Jipsburg. Go home and live well."

Ursula obediently removed the necklace. The moment she did, a heavy weight lifted from her shoulders and chest. Relief washed over her. The past few months had been agonizing.

As they prepared to leave, Ursula received a call. Her expression hardened. "I... I will never forgive them, Ms. Ruell. Don't preach kindness when you haven't endured their pain. I've lost my mother forever, and my life is irrevocably changed. They ruined everything."

Vera apparently spoke again, but Ursula refused firmly. "I won't take another cent. Ms. Ruell, if you have a conscience, stop calling. Those who did wrong must pay. Your call proves you know what they did. Isn't it unreasonable to pressure me like this?"

Vera seemed to hesitate, but remained silent.

After hanging up, Ursula, tears welling, looked at Skylar. "I will never forgive them!"

Skylar smiled. "Follow your heart. You have family, and a bright future."

Ursula nodded. Yes, she had a future. Perhaps her mother was watching over her, guiding her to Skylar in her time of need.

Skylar had just reached the underground parking lot, preparing to drive to the Hughes Residence, when Vera called.

"Skylar, please help me! I can't stand by while my grandfather and Uncle Marlon face trouble. I'll pay anything. They've always been proud men. What they did was wrong, but they know it now.

"They can't bring themselves to apologize to Ursula. Please help me. I'll pay any amount, meet any condition."
