Chapter 1207
After Minerva finished speaking, she remembered something and quickly made a video call. Emerson Hampton answered almost immediately.
“Darling, where are you?” His voice was magnetic and affectionate.
“Can you help me decide if this dress looks good? I’m thinking of wearing it to the engagement,” Minerva said, turning the camera toward a full-length mirror.
Emerson saw Minerva perfectly. He studied her intently, his gaze hinting at desire. Then, he said, “Buy everything you tried on today. When I get home, I want you to model each one for me, and then we can decide which to wear for the engagement.”
Minerva chuckled. “I’ll think about it.” She knew Emerson wouldn’t be much help; he'd likely think she was a goddess even in a burlap sack.
“Send me your location. I’ll drive over now. Our engagement is a shared affair, so let’s pick together,” he insisted.
“Alright,” Minerva replied, sending him the address.
Skylar hadn’t expected the video call. Caught off guard by their affection, she teased, “Looks like I can step back now?”
Minerva blushed slightly. “He’ll be about half an hour, so stay a bit longer.”
“Sure, I’ll make the most of these thirty minutes,” Skylar laughed.
Minerva excitedly returned to trying on dresses, while Skylar waited, somewhat bored. This dress design studio was quite famous in Jipsburg; its award-winning head designer dressed many celebrities for red-carpet events.
While Skylar waited, a couple entered.
“I have a friend who came to Jipsburg for an event and chose her outfit here. She said the designers are quite talented and recommended I check it out. Ned, I won’t take long. I just want to see their styles. If I don’t like them, we can leave.”
“Sure, take your time.”
Chapter 1207
Two familiar voices, followed by the click of high heels on marble, echoed through the room. Skylar looked up, surprised to see Ned and Rosa. She hadn’t expected to encounter them, especially so soon after their last meeting.
Ned and Rosa also saw her, equally surprised. Rosa frowned slightly. Ned’s expression was unreadable, as if considering whether she was following him. He'd had many women pursue him in Murida, some even stalking him, but he quickly dismissed that possibility with Skylar.
Rosa broke the silence. “Hey, what a coincidence! Running into you here.”
Ned’s resemblance to Joe was trending news in Jipsburg, with much discussion of Joe’s fiancée, Lizzie. No one had mentioned Skylar, leaving Rosa curious about her relationship with Joe.
