Chapter 1229
Natalie smiled. โYes, I did block you.โ It was her phone; she could block whomever she pleased. She didn't need to concern herself with others' opinions.
The woman furrowed her brows, scanning Natalie from head to toe. A hint of disdain flickered in her eyes. โIโve tried to meet you several times, but you kept rejecting my requests. So, here I am. Hello, Iโm Fiona Ortega.โ Sheโd hired someone to investigate Natalie; she had her photos. Fiona also knew Natalie had been Jeremyโs wife. A married woman who could entice Austin to return to Jipsburg piqued her curiosity. Usually proud, Fiona wondered what kind of person Natalie truly was. Having met her, Fiona was even more perplexed.
โI donโt know if youโre hard of hearing, but Iโve repeatedly said thereโs no need to meet. I have no relationship with Mr. Powell. You donโt seem hard of hearing; perhaps you simply chose not to listen?โ Natalie rolled her eyes. She wondered who Fiona thought she was, acting so superior, convinced Natalie was a pushover.
Fiona hadnโt expected such a sharp retort. Most people were cautious around her, but Natalie clearly didn't hold her in high regard. After a deep breath, Fiona retorted, โDo you think denying a relationship makes it true?โ
โI donโt care whether you believe it or not,โ Natalie replied irritably. She couldnโt believe the sheer audacity; some people simply refused to listen. Such individuals possessed serious issues.
โYou! If you didnโt have feelings for Austin, why work as his assistant? You clearly had high hopes taking that position. I know youโve been a fan of his for a long time. Fans will do anything for their idols. You even got divorced for him, and now act innocent. Do you think Iโll believe you?โ Fiona spoke with an air of superiority, as if seeing right through Natalie. In her eyes, Natalie was just another woman trying to seduce Austin. All these women aspired to marry into the Powell family, but none could compare to her.
Looking at Fionaโs haughty demeanor, Natalie smirked. โWhatโs wrong with you? Donโt come to my house and act crazy. You should get that checked out.โ There was no point wasting breath. Fiona expected Natalie to be unreasonable, but not to this extent.
โDo you even have any manners?โ Fiona shot back, incredulous that Austin would end his engagement for someone as rude as Natalie.
โYou may be older, but that doesnโt give you the right to lecture me. Mind your own business. You act so refined, yet you keep calling and showing up at my house. If youโre suffering from paranoia, see a doctor. What are you doing losing your mind in my home? If youโre Mr. Powellโs fiancรฉe, go find him instead of bothering me,โ Natalie said with a cold laugh.
Fionaโs face flushed crimson then paled. โYou!โ
โIf you were just calling to annoy me, I could ignore it, but you showed up at my house! I canโt tolerate that. I donโt care who you are, get out! Stop harassing me!โ Natalieโs patience had snapped. โIf you werenโt the third party trying to seduce my fiancรฉ, do you think I would be here?โ Fiona yelled, abandoning her composure.
Natalie smirked. โIf you canโt speak properly, shut up! Which of your eyes saw me as his mistress? What does his being with me have to do with me? If youโre that worried, stick to Mr. Powell and stop seeing everyone as a mistress?โ
โYou! Do you dare swear on your life? If youโve ever seduced Austin, youโll never find someone you love.โ
Fiona couldnโt believe Natalieโs stubbornness. Austin had returned to Jipsburg, yet she still lied. Such words might fool others, but to Fiona, it was ridiculous.
Looking at Fiona, Natalie felt as if she were staring at an idiot. โWho do you think you are to demand that I swear?โ
