Chapter 1230
Fiona smirked, catching Natalie in a lie. "You're too scared to swear an oath, yet you dare claim you've never tried to seduce Austin?"
"You're just another woman I've seen plenty of times before, always using underhanded tactics. Marrying Jeremy must have been no different, right? You ended up divorced not just because of Austin, but because Jeremy discovered your greed," Fiona said smugly, believing she'd exposed Natalie's secrets.
Natalie glanced at her phone. The building manager had confirmed security's arrival. There was no point in continuing the conversation. Instead, she called Austin. Given his demanding filming schedule, she wasn't sure if he was resting or even available.
Fiona frowned, seeing Natalie ignore her. "Who are you calling? The police? Go ahead; you'll only embarrass yourself. After all, you're the mistress trying to steal someone else's fiancรฉ."
Natalie looked at Fiona as if she were an idiot. "There's no need for police involvement over something so trivial." It was best to resolve this simply.
Fiona raised an eyebrow. "Calling your friends? I didn't come alone. I always have bodyguards." She scoffed at the idea of Natalie's friends intimidating her.
Natalie was about to end the call when Austin answered, his voice groggy.
"Natalie?"
Natalie was momentarily surprised. His charm was undeniable. She glanced at Fiona. "Mr. Powell, I'm sorry to bother you, but I need to discuss what happened today."
"What's going on?" Austin asked.
Fiona froze at the mention of "Mr. Powell." "Who are you calling?"
Natalie looked directly at Fiona. "Mr. Powell, your fiancรฉe has been accusing me of being a mistress since yesterday. After my explanation, she refused to believe me. Today, she came to my house. I think you and your fiancรฉe need to resolve this yourselves. I'd appreciate it if you didn't disturb my life again."
Fiona's expression darkened. "You actually called Austin."
Austin's calm voice broke the silence. "Wait for me. I'll be there," he said before hanging up.
Fiona's phone rang. Her body stiffened, her face paling as she bit her lip, glaring at Natalie.
Natalie remained calm under Fiona's intense stare. "Since you don't believe me, Mr. Powell can explain it himself. You've been disturbing me for no reason, and you both owe me an apology. But don't worry, I don't hold grudges. Mr. Powell said he'll be here soon. You can wait for him downstairs."
Fiona stammered. She'd never encountered someone like Natalie. The knowledge that Austin knew added to her humiliation.
Natalie smirked. "Ms. Ortega, when you remember your manners, feel free to apologize. I'm generous, and I'll probably forgive you. Now, please step aside. I'd like to go home."
"Natalie!" Fiona shouted.
"I have excellent hearing. There's no need to shout," Natalie replied calmly. Fiona's attitude was intolerable. Natalie didn't need to care about her.
