Chapter 1260

Natalie nodded. Rosa, the driver who had collided with her, was sitting before her. She couldn't believe the coincidence. Natalie suspected Rosa lacked a driver's license and didn't know how to drive. Perhaps she mistook the gas pedal for the brake. If not for luck, Natalie's injuries would have been far worse than a concussion. Rosa, however, also appeared injured, with wounds to her head and hands. Upon seeing Skylar, Rosa's expression shifted to surprise; she recognized Natalie. Natalie had called Ned "Joe" at the café, but Rosa hadn't expected Natalie and Skylar to be friends.

"What a coincidence," Rosa said dryly.

Skylar nodded. "Natalie's situation isn't good. She needs observation."

"I have a dashcam; she's fully responsible," Natalie added. This was beyond frustrating. She'd been driving home when she encountered Rosa's reckless driving.

Rosa frowned. "You could have pressed the gas pedal and avoided this. This isn't solely my fault."

"What? There were cars in front of me! I couldn't endanger others to escape your recklessness. Now I'm fully responsible? Are you out of your mind? From the moment of the accident, you've shirked responsibility and haven't apologized. And now you're arguing? Do you even have a driver's license? I'm not letting this go."

Natalie, already dizzy from her concussion, felt her fury ignite at Rosa's words. They were ridiculous.

Rosa's eyes widened. She couldn't believe Natalie's outburst. "Even if it was my fault, you don't need to be so worked up. You just want more money, right?"

Rosa refused to pay. Her unfamiliarity with local driving rules had caused the accident, but she was injured too, and her head wound might scar.

Skylar, familiar with Rosa from previous encounters, wasn't surprised by her shamelessness. Turning to Natalie, she said gently, "Take it easy and rest. The police will handle this, and the truth will come out."

"This is between me and her," Rosa said, checking the time. "Ms. Sullivan, if you have nothing else to discuss, you can leave. Your presence complicates negotiations." She had called Ned after being admitted; he should arrive soon. She didn't want him to see Skylar. A little extra compensation later would be easier. This was a hassle. In Murida, she would have simply used a lawyer.

Skylar remained impassive, ignoring Rosa. Rosa's sense of entitlement was astounding. She acted as if she held sway over who remained in the hospital, as if it were her home.

Natalie refused to back down. "Skylar's my friend. What does it matter to you if she stays? Do you think this is your house? You can't tell people to leave. I find you annoying. Get out of here! Wait for the police."

Natalie wasn't worried; the police had Rosa's contact information. Even with Ned as her fiancé, Rosa couldn't escape.

"You!" Rosa was incensed by Natalie's bluntness. She found Natalie unreasonable and turned to Skylar. Skylar, unsurprisingly, wouldn't back down either. They clearly lacked any decorum.
