Chapter 130

"Why did you send a voice message?" Skylar exclaimed, surprised.

Hearing Skylar's voice on the phone, Joe realized he'd accidentally sent a voice message. "I accidentally hit the voice button. Sorry," he said. "I'm at the Williams residence. I'm dealing with something."

Skylar doubted it was an accident. Given their discussion about divorce yesterday, his sudden voice message seemed like an attempt to get her to return to Galaxy Villa to continue their conversation.

Joe was silent for a moment. "Do you need me to come over?" he asked. Letting the Williams family know he and Skylar were married wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

Skylar was startled by Joe's suggestion. She felt he was just being polite. "Thank you, but there's no need. I can handle it myself."

There was a pause before Joe replied with another voice message—a faint hum of acknowledgment.

"That voice… it sounds like…" Maisy listened intently, trying to identify the caller. The calm voice sounded very much like Joe, which she found impossible, as far as she knew. Skylar didn't know either. It was just a similar-sounding voice. However, the brief conversation, though short, suggested familiarity between the speakers.

Jeffrey was stunned. He looked at Skylar, whom he'd previously disregarded but now saw as potentially useful. He wondered what she could possibly have to do with Joe. It seemed impossible.

"Is it Paul? Are you still going to deny your relationship with Paul?" Maisy asked, jealousy evident in her voice.

"It doesn't seem like Paul," Kenny and Samuel said in unison. They had met Paul, whose voice wasn't as cold as the one Skylar was speaking with. The voice on the phone was chilling, almost terrifying.

Jeffrey stared at Skylar and demanded, "Who is it?"

Sadie said anxiously, "Skylar, who is your sugar daddy? Tell me, and I'll decide for you. The Williamses' daughter can't be someone's mistress. She can only be a legitimate wife."

Peter's expression grew solemn as he considered who the caller might be if it wasn't Paul. He hadn't considered this possibility; his initial plan had been to gain an advantage over Paul.

"You know what they say, 'birds of a feather flock together,' and it couldn't be truer. People with dirty minds tend to project their own faults onto others," Skylar said sharply. "Instead of accusing me, maybe you should focus on disciplining your precious daughter, Maisy. She's quite adept at playing the mistress, and her tea-making skills aren't half bad, either. Perhaps she learned from watching you."

Maisy's face flushed. "I've said before that it was a misunderstanding. Why won't you believe it? How long will you keep framing me?"

"You're going too far," Samuel said, immediately defending Maisy. "The truth is right in front of your eyes, yet you remain delusional."
