Chapter 1315

Skylar smiled at Joe's words. Although his amnesia left her feeling helpless, it also amused her.

โ€œIโ€™ve never been a burden to youโ€”never in the past, not now, and definitely not in the future. I indeed wanted to talk to you after seeing you, but I wouldn't have forced it if the opportunity hadn't arisen.โ€

โ€œI know these past two days haven't given you much time to find evidence of your true identity, but I want to show you these photosโ€”Grandmaโ€™s photos.โ€ Skylarโ€™s eyes sparkled as she spoke.

While Joe was momentarily distracted, Skylar unlocked her phone. The screen displayed pictures of Gloria, some showing them together. Gloria always wore a warm smile in the photos; her happiness when with Joe was evident.

Joe was captivated by the images of Gloria. A voice whispered in his mind that this was his grandmother, the one who had raised him.

Seeing Joe's captivated expression, Skylar shared stories about Gloria, even recounting their meeting and blossoming relationship. The orchard was serene, the air filled with the sweet scent of ripe fruit as they stood among the trees.

Meanwhile, Rosa checked the time. Joe had been in the restroom for nearly half an hour. Worry gnawed at her. Earlier, sheโ€™d hesitated to look for him, fearing ridicule, but half an hour had passed, and he still hadn't returned.

Determined, she sought him out, questioning staff members along the way, but none had seen him. After confirming he wasn't in the restroom, unease morphed into panic. He wouldn't usually leave halfway through an event, especially before seeing Nicole. He wouldnโ€™t simply walk out now.

The thought of a femme fatale seducing him crossed her mind. She recalled several women at the party, their eyes fixed on Joe, a sight that filled her with nausea and fury.

As she was about to ask a staff member about the guest rooms, she saw an orchard. In the distance, she saw the silhouettes of a man in a suit and a woman in a blue dress, sharing an intimate moment, hidden from the crowd.

The suitโ€ฆ it was identical to Joe's. She couldn't recall which woman at the party wore a blue dress. A sinking feeling gripped her; her face paled. She yearned to rush to the orchard but the crowd prevented a run. She couldn't lose composure and risk ridicule, yet anxiety pounded in her chest. Despite her precautions, she'd underestimated the cunning of this femme fatale.

The orchard's seclusion concealed them. She wondered if they had kissed, or perhaps done something more intimate. The lack of such closeness in her own relationship with Joe fueled her jealousy and anger. She was determined to ruin this woman's reputation; everyone needed to know that Rosa's man wasn't so easily claimed.
