Skylar wondered if Joe was treating her like a lost child. Despite her inner grumbling, she obediently sent him her location.

In less than twenty minutes, Joe arrived, looking hurried. The moment he saw Skylar, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her passionately.

Skylar was dumbfounded. What was this?

After the kiss, Joe lowered his head, his breath slightly heavy. "Why did you go out alone?" he asked.

He'd rushed back from the hospital to find only Skylar's suitcase. She was gone. He'd asked Paul, but no one knew where she'd gone, and she hadn't answered his calls. Didn't she understand the danger?

Still dazed from the kiss, Skylar looked confused. "Can't I go out alone? It's a tourist city, and I had nothing to do at the hotel, so I went for a stroll. Did you… need something?"

Wasn't Joe supposed to be at the hospital? Whoever had made him rush back must have been very important to him.

Listening to Skylar's nonchalant tone, Joe glanced at the crowded pedestrian street and realized his urgency had been irrational. His expression turned grim.

Seeing this, Skylar pointed to a nearby popular spot. "How about we go there and wait in line for a photo?" she suggested. She eagerly wanted Joe to take a few pictures. She wore a flowing sundress that made her look like a fairy.

Skylar's suggestion seemed to relax Joe. He took her hand, and they walked toward the photo spot.

Skylar glanced down at their interlocked hands. His hand fit perfectly in hers, his warmth providing an unexpected sense of security. For a brief moment, her heart fluttered.

Then, a couple ahead of them caught her attention. She snapped out of her thoughts, captivated by the stunning pair embracing. They seemed inseparable, the man tenderly kissing the woman's forehead. They were clearly deeply in love.

Skylar couldn't help but think of Joe's earlier kiss. It had been so different from his usual aloof demeanor—so passionate and intense. If they had been back at the hotel, they surely wouldn't have been able to restrain themselves. Her heart sank as she realized where her thoughts had wandered. That kiss had stirred up uncontrollable emotions.

When they reached the front of the line, Skylar handed her phone to Joe. "Could you take a few pictures for me?"

Joe looked down at the phone, a glint of malice flashing in his eyes. Did she not want a photo with him?

As he looked up, Skylar had already struck a pose. Under the night's luminous glow, the woman in the fiery red sundress stood out. Her long hair danced in the wind, and her radiant smile was captivating.

Time seemed to freeze. Joe's deep eyes locked onto Skylar as he snapped a few photos. He overheard others commenting on her.

"She's so beautiful. Is she a celebrity?"

"If I could find a girlfriend like her, I'd wake up smiling every day."
