Sadie’s words were sincere, her tone filled with sorrow, her repentant demeanor more genuine than ever.

Skylar hadn’t expected Sadie to dream about experiences from before her rebirth after the car accident. She wondered what else Sadie might have dreamed about, and if Sadie herself had undergone a rebirth after surviving the accident. So absorbed was she in watching the video that she didn’t hear Caleb saying goodbye.

Caleb noticed. “Skylar, it’s time to go!”

Skylar snapped back to reality. “Let’s go,” she smiled.

“Skylar, what were you so deep in thought about? Is something wrong? If anything is bothering you, please tell me,” Caleb asked.

Skylar glanced down at Caleb’s feet. “Is your foot completely healed?”

“Yeah, all good now. It’s not a big deal. I just can’t jump around, but walking is fine,” Caleb replied, unable to suppress a smile at her concern.

“After work, do you have any plans?” Skylar inquired.

“Not really. I’m just heading home to read and study,” Caleb scratched his head. He struggled to focus on reading, but managed a few pages a day. He followed Skylar around every day, watching her professionalism, feeling inadequate and pushing himself to improve.

Skylar smiled. “If you’re free, could you accompany me somewhere? I’ll treat you to dinner.”

“Sure!” Caleb agreed immediately.

Half an hour later, at Williams Residences, Caleb’s face showed a conflicted expression.

“Skylar, why are you here? They haven’t treated you well, right? They even tried to force you to resign,” he remarked. He had a poor impression of the Williams family; their behavior seemed utterly rotten.

Skylar glanced toward Williams Residence, feeling a surge of disgust. But given their effort to show her the video and Sadie’s sincerity, she felt compelled to visit—and to see what tricks they were up to.

“They arranged a meeting through someone else. Let’s go in together; with you by my side, they won’t dare to do anything reckless,” Skylar replied, walking toward the entrance.
