“I have dating experience, and I know that the calmer someone looks, the more miserable they feel inside,” Caleb said.

“I used to think you were nonsensical, but now you’re making a little sense. You’d better watch out these next few days and leave Skye alone. Do you hear me?” Daniel stated.

Caleb rolled his eyes. “It’s trendy for women to date younger men now. I happen to be the type of pretty boy older women like. Who knows? Maybe Skylar will fall for it.”

“Get out of here!”

Paul entered Martin Group’s CEO’s office with a phone and a document. “Mr. Martin, have you seen Ms. Sullivan’s social media post?”

Joe looked up, his frosty gaze settling on Paul. “It’s working hours.”

“Yes, sir. However, I’ve discovered the nature of Ms. Sullivan’s relationship with Christopher. You really should see her post,” Paul urged.

He felt Joe’s fierce gaze was lethal. He felt a jolt of fear.

Joe picked up his phone and opened Instagram. His brows furrowed when he saw Skylar’s post. All warmth vanished from his face, leaving a grim expression.

“It seems Ms. Sullivan has broken up with Christopher. The private investigator found she’d gone to the police station and hired a lawyer. Apparently, Christopher swindled money from her. The police even visited his workplace.”

“I doubt she’s clinging to him. It seems Christopher is a two-timing, greedy scumbag,” Paul analyzed. He clicked on a screenshot from his chat with the investigator and showed it to Joe. “Ms. Sullivan’s incredible. She immediately posted a statement online to clarify the situation.”

Joe frowned at the date “30th of last month” on the screen—the day he and Skylar had married.

Paul, getting no response, asked, “Mr. Martin?”

“Reschedule my appointments. I’m going to the hospital at 3:00 p.m.,” Joe said, tossing his phone aside. He seemed unconcerned about Skylar’s breakup with Christopher.

Paul, unable to understand Joe, left to rearrange his schedule.

While Skylar meticulously restored an antique, chaos erupted in the Williams family home.

“What is the meaning of this, Maisy?” Sadie clutched her phone, her fingers trembling. She couldn’t believe Maisy had been secretly seeing Skylar’s boyfriend.

Kenny, Samuel, and Peter Williams—the three Williams brothers, Kenny being the eldest and Samuel the youngest—returned home that day. They’d checked social media on their way.

They’d never been close to Skylar, having grown up separately. Skylar had never mattered to them as much as Maisy. However, this didn't mean they weren't upset with Maisy.

Fortunately, Jeffrey was at Williams Group. Otherwise, the atmosphere at home would have been worse.

Maisy’s fingers tightened around her phone. She wanted to attack Skylar for calling her a bitch. Despite her rage, she affected a pitiful demeanor.

With teary eyes, she said, “That’s photoshopped. Skylar did it to ruin my reputation!”
