Chapter 443

Peter came home to an unbelievable mess. The three siblings were fine, yet hadn't tidied up. He questioned them, and each had an excuse.

Samuel said, "It was too noisy outside to leave for food. We're exhausted. How were we supposed to clean? We've never done chores beforeโ€”how would we know what to do?"

Kenny frowned and added, "We have a million things to handle at home, not to mention Mom. Don't nitpick. We know you're facing problems, but there's no need to take it out on us. Aren't we moving soon? Why waste time cleaning?"

"That's right, Peter," Maisy chimed in quickly. As the only girl, she didn't want to be treated like their maid. Her hands were meant for better things than chores.

The three were incredibly self-righteous. Peter stared at them, inhaled deeply, and exclaimed, "The three of you!"

Kenny said, "Don't be angry. Aren't we moving? Have you found a moving company? We have so much stuffโ€”it'll take several trucks. And have you hired cleaners for Elden Residence? I've forgotten how many rooms there are, and if there'll be enough space for all of us."

Peter was livid. He roared, "You're asking me? I've been swamped with company affairs. Are you all just going to sit around doing nothing? A moving company? We don't have the money! I've sold the house. It needs to be emptied by tomorrow morning. Start packing immediately! No one's sleeping tonight!"

The three were dumbfounded, as if struck by lightning, jolted from their daydreams.

Peter shouted, "Go pack!"

Twelve hours later, they stood in Elden Residence. Countless belongings were strewn across the floor of the dilapidated house. No one spoke. Sadie was on the couch, paralyzed and unable to help. She and Jeffrey had left this house wealthy; who knew they'd be back?

"Don't we have other properties?" Maisy exclaimed, unable to accept the situation. It was worse than Janine's rental. Janine would soon be in a luxurious neighborhood, while Maisy was stuck in this rundown house with the Williamses. She regretted her decision.

Peter said, "I used the money in all your accounts to pay our debts. All the family businesses are gone. We're practically penniless. I have ten thousand left. What can we do with that? Let's clean up now. Tomorrow, everyone gets a job. Our debt is enormous; we need to pay it off quickly."

The three were stunned. Jobs? Only ten thousand left?

Samuel suggested, "Let's talk to Skylar. She made a lot from Joe, and she knows that Gardner boy. She can definitely help us with the debt."
