Chapter 513
Shane accused Skylar of seducing Andrew. The incident at the fondue restaurant was a misunderstanding; the others had no idea what actually happened. Skylar's fuss over the price likely resulted in their trip to the police station. Andrew, mostly sober now, seemed unconcerned; he only wanted to deflect blame.
Andrew said, "Yeah, she said she'd be with me tonight, but then she asked for one million. Even if she's pretty, she's not worth one million, right? I'm not a sucker."
"You're talking nonsense!" Natalie slammed the table furiously. "Who said she agreed to be with you? I can testify it was you who approached and harassed us!" She was itching to slap him.
"Natalie," Andrew said arrogantly, "even if you're feuding with Jeremy, watch your words. Are you making friends indiscriminately? Does Jeremy know about this?"
Shane addressed Skylar: "You will be held accountable for the impact on my client. I suggest you admit your mistake and apologize. Otherwise, the consequences will be severe."
Andrew's eyes coldly assessed Skylar. "Even if your husband is a detective, I have ways to make this matter public. Your husband's job might be at risk. Apologize now." Skylar was becoming more alluring by the minute. He considered getting her into bed that night.
Skylar glanced at the time. "All of you should apologize. My lawyer will be here soon." She immediately called Jacky, who was already en route.

"Officer," Natalie seethed, "they're slandering us. Don't believe a word they say." She knew how easily wealthy and influential people could manipulate public opinion. Soon, truth would be irrelevant. She hadn't expected a simple fondue outing to turn into such a mess, and felt sorry for Skylar, wondering if she was scared. Skylar had called her lawyer; Natalie wondered if he'd dare confront Shane, who had a formidable reputation in Jipsburg City. Andrew had already enlisted a PR team.
The police officer said, "This is a complex situation. There's no surveillance footage. We're gathering evidence. Please be patient."
"This isn't about patience!" Natalie's eyes reddened. "They're bullying us!" She'd briefly considered calling Jeremy but reconsidered. She wouldn't contact him unless things spiraled out of control. She hoped the police could handle it and that witnesses would testify.
"Skye," Natalie said with concern.
Seeing Natalie's anxiety, Skylar reassured her, "It's alright. My lawyer will be here soon. He's nearby."
Seeing Skylar's optimism, Natalie hesitated, glancing at the arrogant Andrew, before deciding to remain silent. Let's not dwell on what hasn't happened yet. Besides, whoever Skylar trusts must be capable.
Chapter 513
Shane remained unfazed, casually lifting his chin. His methods were far beyond those of ordinary lawyers; otherwise, Andrew wouldn't trust him.
Andrew said, somewhat exasperated, "Why make things so difficult? Don't come crying to me later." He added to Shane, "She injured one of my friends earlier. She should compensate for that." Shane made a note.
Natalie clenched her teeth. "Shameless!"
The police officer noted Andrew's influential status.
Skylar looked at Andrew coolly. "If we're talking compensation, you should compensate me."
