Charles couldn't let Skylar earn more than him. Knowing she would be visiting, he'd gone to the mall yesterday and bought her a luxury handbag, a favorite among many female celebrities. The brand was popular. In the past, he couldn't afford such a gift, but now he could. He could even afford things other mothers had for Janine.

"See if you like it. Try it on," Charles said eagerly, handing the bag to Skylar.

Though not particularly fond of luxury brands, Skylar admitted the bag was lovely. "It's lovely. Thank you, Charles," she said.

"That's good to hear," Charles grinned proudly. None of the female celebrities could match Skylar's grace carrying the bag. She was extraordinarily beautiful.

Suddenly, Brigham Cohen, a middle-aged man, appeared. His eyes lit up when he saw Skylar; he was visibly captivated.

Charles quickly clarified, "Mr. Cohen, she's my sister, not an actress. She happened to have time this weekend and came by."

Brigham's eyes brightened further. "Your sister? Has she signed with any company? I think she's perfect for the role of the enchanting second female lead in our upcoming drama. She'll definitely satisfy the audience."

Upon closer inspection, Brigham realized Skylar was truly stunning—like a character from a screenplay come to life.

Skylar smiled at the suggestion she play the second female lead. She'd never considered acting; her passion lay solely in her work as an antique restorer.

"Mr. Cohen, my sister works as an antique restorer. She won't be entering the entertainment industry," Charles interjected quickly. He couldn't bear the thought of Skylar in the entertainment industry; a woman as beautiful as she would face many challenges, and he worried about her being taken advantage of. Besides, she loved her job.

Brigham looked slightly disappointed, but upon hearing Skylar's profession, his eyes lit up again. He stared at her as if she were a rare find, wondering how such a beautiful young woman ended up with such a "dull and uninteresting" job.

He hurriedly asked, "An antique restorer? Can you authenticate antique pieces?"

Skylar nodded. "Yes, I can identify most. It's part of my basic training."

"Well, I recently purchased a painting for my collection. A friend later claimed it was a forgery. I spent fifty million dollars on it! If it's fake, I've been duped. I believe it's genuine, but I have doubts. Is it worth keeping? Could you help me determine its authenticity? I'll compensate you accordingly. Just name your price," Brigham quickly explained.

Knowing Charles, Brigham felt Skylar could be trusted. Her refusal of fame and focus on her passion showed a calm and composed demeanor rare in young people.

Charles listened in astonishment. He wondered how the conversation had shifted to Skylar authenticating the painting. Moreover, Brigham rarely treated people so kindly.

"I can take a look," Skylar agreed, believing in doing what she could. After all, Brigham directed Charles's current film; assisting him would give Charles another supporter in the industry.

"Could you wait thirty minutes? I'll have the crew bring you dinner, and my family will send the painting over immediately," Brigham asked hurriedly. He'd wanted to ask Alexander for help, but couldn't establish contact. An appointment would be necessary, and he lacked the time.

"Okay," Skylar replied.

While waiting, Brigham casually asked, "There are numerous auction houses and restoration teams in Jipsburg City. Which team do you work with?"

Before Skylar could answer, Charles proudly said, "She's in Mr. Gardner Senior's team, and Skylar does all the repair work herself."
