Chapter 67
How could Joe possibly help her? Business, however, was like war. The Williams family had dominated Jipsburg for years, unintentionally offending some people along the way.
"You're really lucky," Steven remarked. "Someone's targeting the Williams family at just the right moment."
Skylar found Steven's analysis convincing. It didn't matter if they couldn't figure out who was behind it; the favorable outcome was all that mattered.
As they shared a smile, Paul captured their candid moment from across the street, while dining at a nearby building. He'd planned a barbecue with college friends at an old store that day, but hadn't expected to see Skylar with a man at a restaurant.
Though the man's back was turned, Paul guessed he was probably handsome. Otherwise, Skylar wouldn't be smiling so brightly and naturally.
After a brief internal struggle, Paul decided to send the photos to Joe. After all, Joe paid his bills, and Gloria had asked him to keep an eye on Joe and Skylar, even suggesting he play matchmaker if the opportunity arose. This felt like his chance. He wondered if Joe would be jealous seeing Skylar smile so radiantly at another man.
On closer inspection, the man didn't seem infatuated with Skylar. Without hesitation, Paul selected a few photos and sent them to Joe.
Joe had just arrived at Galaxy Villa and hadn't even changed his clothes when his phone notified him of a message. Pulling out his phone, he saw Paul's photos: a beautiful woman smiling warmly at the man across from herโa smile Joe had never seen before. It exuded a hint of coyness and dependence, making everything seem wonderful from her perspective.
Joe's gaze turned cold as he focused on the man. Who was he? Meanwhile, Paul eagerly waited, phone in hand. One word from Joe would reveal his feelings for Skylar.
Just then, Skylar and the man prepared to leave. Paul finally saw the man's face and was shocked: he was as attractive as Joeโhandsome, dignified, and very protective of Skylar. Just as a drunk person stumbled toward Skylar, the man immediately stepped in to shield her, holding her close.
Paul quickly snapped more photos and even recorded a video of them leaving. Their height difference made them a perfect match. Without hesitation, he sent the photos and video to Joeโsure to shake things up.
