Chapter 680

A realization dawned on Natalie: she was repulsed by physical contact with Jeremy. Her love for him had transformed into utter disgust at his touch. She struggled free of his grasp with all her might, unconcerned about possibly dislocating her arm. Then, she stepped aside and dry-heaved.

This shocked Jeremy, Hank, and Austin. Jeremy froze, turning as pale as a sheet. Natalie vomited nothing, but the nausea had been overwhelming. Once she recovered, she saw Jeremy's pallor and her own face drained of color. Words lingered on her lips, but dissipated; she couldn't explain it.

Hank asked hurriedly, "How are you doing? Do you need to go to the hospital?" This wasn't a usual occurrence.

"I—I'll go home to rest," Natalie said, looking at Austin and Hank. Austin nodded. Hank agreed, "Go home and rest well. Let me know if you need anything." Natalie nodded and turned to Jeremy. "I'm alright. Are you heading to the office, or coming home?"

Jeremy gazed intently at Natalie. "I'll be going to the office before coming home," he replied.

"Alright," Natalie said, sighing in relief.

Once Natalie and Jeremy left, Hank voiced his thoughts, "That doesn't mean she's pregnant, does it? Jeremy's reaction is baffling. Their dynamic is extremely strange. Did you see Jeremy's face after Natalie started vomiting? He went pale instantly!" People in the entertainment industry needed to be observant, suave, and tactful; otherwise, their efforts would be wasted.

Austin's expression was terrifying. Darkness seemed to emanate from him; it wasn't an act. While intimidating on set, Hank knew this was genuine anger.

"If she is pregnant, she might not be able to work in the future. As for you… why don't you go overseas and shoot a few films?" Hank asked. It had been a brief romance; it wouldn't last, and there hadn't been much of a relationship anyway. It wasn't too late to withdraw, especially since Natalie was unaware of Austin's feelings.

Austin remained silent, getting into the car without a word. Hank said nothing more.

After Natalie returned home, she sat on the couch for a long time, lost in thought. Finally, she called Kate.

Kate answered quickly, "Nath, aren't you on a business trip? How did you find time to call?"

"Mom, I've thought this over carefully, and I've made my decision. I can't continue being with Jeremy. I want a divorce," Natalie announced gravely. Her tone was unwavering. From the moment she stepped off the plane, through the car ride home, and until this call, only one thought consumed her: she couldn't deceive herself any longer.
