Chapter 681
They hadn't met, but Natalie knew Kate would be shocked. "What? A divorce? Are you sure, Nath? A divorce is more than a simple declaration. You've only been home a few days. I think Jeremy has changed; he's become much more attentive."
Kate tried to dissuade her. "Nath, there's no turning back. You must consider this thoroughly. After all, Jeremy wouldn't have wanted this, right?" Her heart ached thinking of Jeremy and Natalie. Hearing Natalie's resolve intensified her agony.
Natalie wasn't surprised by Kate's reaction. "Mom, I know it's unfair to Jeremy, but it wouldn't be fair to either of us not to divorce. Every time I look at him, I remember his betrayal. He held my hand, and I wanted to throw up."

"What did the doctor say?" Kate pressed.
Natalie explained, "Mom, this isn't a mental health issue. He can't make me forget what happened."

When Skylar finished work, she saw Jenny's text messages. Typical of a little girl—blaming others without self-reflection. The messages read:
"Skylar, did you stop Joe from seeing me? Joe was my only companion growing up; he's all the family I have. He's the only one I want when I'm sick. Are you being cruel? How can you sleep at night? You're married to Joe, yet you're still unsatisfied? You've hurt me, and I'm withering hopelessly. Does this amuse you? Don't be inhumane!" (3:00 pm)
Half an hour later, another message followed:
"Skylar, give Joe back to me. Before you, he spoiled me silly; he never ignored me when I was sick. But you've forced him to ignore me. You're being cruel! I beg you. Please! I'll do anything."
Skylar looked at the…
