Chapter 732
Was it someone from Freddie's workplace? Highly unlikely. If Joe were from their office, Freddie would surely remember him. Besides, hadn't Charles said his brother-in-law had taken him over?
Freddie felt a surge of frustrated anger. The harder he tried to recall, the more elusive the memory became.
Charles apologetically addressed Joe, "I'm so sorry. I've caused you so much trouble."
Joe responded calmly, his emotions unreadable. "It's not your fault. I've already discovered the cause."
Observing Joe, a worried Skylar asked, "Did you encounter paparazzi on your way up? I'm terrified they'll fabricate stories."
Joe sat down, replying, "There are no paparazzi downstairs."
"Gone?" Skylar blinked, then rushed to the window. As Joe had said, they were gone.
Freddie remained skeptical. Those paparazzi were waiting for Charles. Why would they leave? Not even dinnertime would deter them, would it?
Just then, Andy called Freddieโan unprecedented event.
"Fred, you're a lucky guy," Andy declared passionately.
For a moment, Freddie felt a flicker of genuine friendship. He knew, however, that Andy was arrogant; such casual conversation with a subordinate was unheard of.
Andy's unexpected kindness stunned him. "Lucky? Mr. Watson, I don't understand."
Freddie was an honest man; he wouldn't pretend to understand something he didn't. His first independently managed actor was embroiled in a major scandalโhis career was effectively over. How could he be lucky?

"Take good care of Charles. If anything happens to him, contact me directly. I'll do everything possible to provide Charles with the best opportunities. You seem like a fool, but even fools get lucky sometimes. Also, sing our praises to Charles. We've been remiss in our countermeasures. Mr. Morris will explain things to Charles," Andy said, his tone softening at the end.
Upon hearing this, the situation clicked for Freddie. He glanced at Skylar, sitting beside Joe. A mental explosion occurred.
He remembered! Joe was the CEO of Martin Group.
Charles couldn't have been referring to Joe Martin when he mentioned his brother-in-law, could he?
How could this be? Was Skylar some kind of goddess?
The others remained oblivious to Freddie's stunned expression, continuing their relaxed conversation. Skylar asked Joe about his hunger, then Charles about the refrigerator's contents.
Embarrassed, Charles replied, "I mostly work on set. I don't cook, just some instant pasta and milk."
"Would instant pasta work?" Skylar asked Joe. He nodded.
Charles rose, suggesting, "This is your first visit; I'll cook."
Freddie followed him into the kitchen, still feeling like he was dreaming. Once inside, he finally found his voice. "Is Joe... the man I think he is? Are you really going to feed the CEO of Martin Group instant pasta?"
