Chapter 791
Jenny felt a little hesitant. She straightened, however, and glared at Skylar. Why should she feel hesitant? She hadn't done anything wrong. Skylar should be the one feeling uneasy. She wouldn't fear being photographed if she were truly just friends with Aiken.
Skylar looked away. She probably hadn't noticed Jenny taking her picture. Jenny breathed a sigh of relief.
Ten minutes later, Calum returned, placing chicken noodle soup before Jenny. "Eat it while it's hot," he advised.
"Thanks," Jenny replied, beaming sweetly.
Calum seemed stunned by her beauty. Everyone at the table grinned.
Half an hour later, Skylar entered the washroom. Jenny was washing her hands. Seeing Skylar, she panicked, then blurted, "Skylar, what a coincidence! We even ran into each other at that fondue restaurant. I wanted to say hello, but you were with your friends, so I didn't want to bother you."
Skylar's expression was unreadable. She extended a hand to Jenny.
Surprised, Jenny asked, "What does this mean, Skylar?"
"How many pictures did you take of me?" Skylar had noticed Jenny's furtive glances and photography. She hadn't wanted a confrontation in front of Simona's birthday celebration.
Jenny's eyes widened. "I have no idea what you're talking about. What photographs?"
Skylar knew Jenny wouldn't admit it. Jenny's behavior was far from what Skylar had expected. Their first meeting had left a positive impression; Jenny had seemed like such a sweet girl.
"Yesterday, you went to the Milona Hotel and to Room 2306, didn't you?" Skylar asked coldly.
Terror gripped Jenny. "Why would youโฆ" she exclaimed, realizing she'd slipped up. Her eyes darted around the room, unable to meet Skylar's gaze. She glanced down. "Your eyes deceive you. I took a leave and went straight home yesterday; I wasn't feeling well. I didn't go to a hotel." She'd looked down while entering the hotel, afraid of being recognized. How had Skylar found out? Had she sent someone to follow her?
Jenny's heart pounded. The incident with Edwin couldn't be revealed.
"I'm giving you another chance. Hand me your phone," Skylar instructed, wanting to end this quickly.
Hesitantly, Jenny offered her phone.
"Unlock it," Skylar ordered.
Jenny took a deep breath, gritting her teeth as she complied.
Skylar opened the photo album. As expected, it contained pictures Jenny had takenโonly of Skylar and Aiken; Caleb and Simona were absent. Clearly, Jenny's intentions had been malicious.
"Jenny, don't you feel guilty or nervous? You've told so many lies," Taylor commented flatly, having deleted the pictures. Something shady had clearly happened at the hotel; otherwise, Jenny wouldn't have been so hesitant or readily handed over her phone.
