Chapter 824

Natalie shook her head. "I haven't been in touch with Jeremy lately." Since their last argument, they hadn't seen each other. Her parents didn't mention him during her recent visit home. It seemed their relationship was over. Skylar remained silent.

Soon, the bloody duel scene Charles and Austin had discussed was being filmed. Their performance was incredibly intense and shocking, creating a powerful sense of immersion. Austin's acting was superb, and Charles was equally skilled; together, they were a perfect match.

"Charles's acting is truly impressive," Natalie whispered to Skylar. "I've seen many actors opposite Mr. Powell, and many struggle to keep up. It always makes me want to jump in and act alongside them."

Skylar smiled. "You should give it a try. You might get a chance to act with Mr. Powell someday."

Natalie knew her limitations. "I don't have the courage."

They chatted and laughed until the scene ended. Later, the four of them shared a quick dinner at a nearby restaurant, as they had another night shoot.

By 9:00 pm, Skylar was in a cab. Galaxy Villa was brightly lit upon her arrival; Joe was waiting.

"Had a drink?" he asked, glancing at her.

Skylar nodded slowly. She hadn't had much, but her alcohol tolerance was low; even a small amount made her feel significantly affected.

She sat across from Joe. Perhaps because she'd been drinking, she impulsively asked, "Is there something you want to ask me?" Then, she laughed lightly. "Don't tell me you're here to reprimand me. If so, I haven't bullied Vera."

She continued, "And even if you were, it's important to consider if it's justified. What's your relationship with her, and what's your relationship with me?"

Joe listened as Skylar seemed to talk more to herself than to him. His frown softened into a slight smile. "Oh? What kind of relationship do we have?"

Suddenly, Skylar moved closer, sitting beside him and cupping his face in her hands. His skin looked good, and he was handsome. It seemed like a fair arrangement, however she viewed it.

"We're just fulfilling each other's needs," Skylar murmured, almost to herself, as if trying to convince herself.

Joe's eyes turned icy as he gently removed her hands. "So, to you, we're just fulfilling each other's needs."
