Chapter 856
Upon hearing Natalieโs words, Skylar felt reassured. Natalieโs personality precluded easy intimidation, and as Austinโs assistant, she had no direct contact with Helena. Skylar soon arrived at the set with Natalie, then quickly hailed a cab and departed.
When Natalie returned, Hank was surprised. โBack so soon? I thought you werenโt coming back today.โ
โIโve sorted everything out, so I returned to work. You can get back to your tasks, Hank,โ Natalie replied with a bright smile.
Hank nodded. โAlright, Iโll head back to the studio.โ Heโd been juggling Austinโs work arrangements, publicity, and various coordinations, working nearly around the clock. Fortunately, Natalie's efficiency allowed him a respite.
Natalie glanced at Austin, still filming. The scene involved several actors, including Helena, cast as Austinโs ex-girlfriend. Despite her recent rise to fame, Helenaโs years in supporting roles made her performance effortless and natural. Natalie believed Helena possessed considerable potential, perhaps even award-winning talent.
The shoot proceeded smoothly, requiring only two retakes. Helena adeptly portrayed two distinct emotional states, and Austin subtly adjusted his performance in response. Their interaction was captivating.
After the scene, Austin approached Natalie. Studying her calmly, he asked, โIs everything resolved?โ
Handing him a water bottle, Natalie smiled. โYes, itโs all sorted. Hereโs some water for you, Mr. Powell.โ She decided to let go of her entanglement with Jeremy, leaving any further complications to her parents.
Austin took a sip of water, then sat beside Natalie. โHave you decided to come to work with me in Fachington for three months?โ
โYes. I visited Fachington a few years ago; it will be good to revisit,โ Natalie replied. At this point, other concerns paled in comparison to her work. Fachington offered a chance for both mental clarity and new experiences.
Austin smiled. โGreat. Iโll show you around. I have a mansion there, and the grapes should be ripe this season. We can make some red wine together.โ
Natalieโs eyes lit up. โReally?โ
โYes.โ Austinโs smile widened.
โThatโs great, Mr. Powell. Iโm so lucky to be your assistant,โ Natalie said, flattering him.
Helena approached and greeted Austin. โHello, Mr. Powell.โ
Austinโs smile vanished, replaced by a detached expression. โHello.โ
Helena was startled. She'd just witnessed Austin and Natalie's warm, laughing exchange. Yet, his smile toward her felt distant, lacking genuine warmth, a contrast to his earlier interaction with Hank.
