Chapter 894
โThey havenโt slept in two nights. The men I sent will make them better men. They wonโt be able to perform in front of a pretty girl when heโs finished with them.โ
Aiken took two puffs of his cigarette. โItโs still not enough.โ
โI know what to do. Donโt worry, Mr. Parkinson. How dare they bully Ms. Parkinson! Theyโll be lucky to survive this!โ
โAlright.โ
He pocketed his phone. Aiken watched the cars and people near the hospital, taking several more drags before extinguishing his cigarette. As he walked back, a text arrived with an attached document. It read: โMrs. Martin Senior set Skylar up with Joe. Theyโre not in love. Skylar moved out for a day, a while ago. They probably intend to divorce. Joe likes Vera.โ
Aiken stared at the words for a long time.
In Fachington, an intense shooting scene concluded. Natalie rushed to Austin, noticing a wound on his neck.
โMr. Powell, youโre hurt!โ
Austin touched it, his fingers coming away bloody. It wasnโt much; he felt a slight sting. His expression remained unchanged. โItโs just a superficial wound. Nothing much.โ
He had a half-hour break before his next scene. Austin had never worried about such wounds, but Natalie considered it serious.
โIโll get the medical kit to disinfect it. If itโs not treated properly, it might scar.โ
Natalie knew Austin; a hardworking actor with great respect for his profession. Heโd gone straight to set after arriving in Fachington. Days had passed without a break.
Minutes later, Natalie cleaned his wound meticulously with iodine. Hank arrived to find this scene. Natalie disinfected the wound thoroughly as Austin gazed at her warmly. His affection for Natalie was evident in his eyes, perhaps amplified by his overseas location and foreign colleagues.
Natalie remained somewhat unresponsive to his advances. She might have been listening to Jeremy, but she wasn't paying attention to other men.
โI brought some food from home. Letโs eat.โ
Natalieโs eyes lit up. โClusian food? Thatโs great! I can finally have a good meal!โ Sheโd initially enjoyed local delicacies, but theyโd lost their appeal.
โHa! Youโve been here a few days and youโve already slimmed down. Come, letโs eat.โ Hank chuckled. She was quite the food connoisseur.
Austin said, โAfter todayโs scene, Iโm done filming. We can go to my mansion. Thereโll be Clusian food there.โ
โReally? Thatโs awesome! Iโm tearing up!โ Natalie wasn't exaggerating; homesickness threatened tears.
