Chapter 900
Natalieโs tone was one of excitement and happiness, perhaps fueled by her recent wonderful holiday at a castle-like estate. Skylar couldn't help but smile with her.
Suddenly, someone called for Natalie. โNatalie, Mr. Hughes would like to see you. Heโs treated everyone to coffee!โ
Hearing โMr. Hughes,โ Skylar raised an eyebrow. โIs that Jeremy?โ
Natalie paused. โItโs him,โ she replied. โHe came to the set with Helena, whoโs making a guest appearance. I have no idea why he wants to see me now. Iโll go. Weโll talk soon, Skye.โ
โAlright,โ Skylar responded thoughtfully.
Had Jeremy gone to Fachington with Helena? It seemed heโd given up on Natalie. This was excellent news.
Natalie went to see Jeremy. Everyone knew he was a powerful man; a comfortable resting place had been prepared for him. Even Helena received the same level of respect as Austin. Natalie had to admit Helena seemed to glow while acting; it was hard not to be captivated by her. She believed Jeremy genuinely liked Helena. He must have been intoxicated when he visited her in Jipsburg.
However, she felt unsure of what to say to him. He was both familiar and strange. Natalie didn't know what to do.
โI heard my colleagues say you wanted to see me,โ she said, breaking the silence. Waiting for Jeremy to acknowledge her presence felt like a waste of time.
Jeremy looked at her, noting how much slimmer sheโd become. When he remained silent, Natalie hesitantly began, โYouโฆโ
โDo sit down. Letโs have a chat,โ Jeremy said softly, averting his gaze.
Natalie shook her head. โThis scene will be over soon. I canโt leave my place for too long.โ She feared Helena might misunderstand. After all, she had been married to Jeremy. Even though they were divorced, such a history often led to misinterpretations.
Jeremyโs eyes darkened. โAre you still bothered by what happened that day?โ he asked.
โYou were drunk. I didnโt hold it against you. Besides, you seem to be getting along well with Helena. It was just a drunken incident,โ Natalie replied, sighing in relief. Heโd probably sought her out to apologize. There was no need. Even if marriage and a sibling-like relationship weren't possible, there was no point dwelling on it now.
Jeremyโs frown deepened. โAre you sure you have no questions about Helena and my appearance on set together? Anything youโd like to know?โ
โWhat happens between you and Helena is your business. I know how to keep my distance,โ Natalie replied, her brows furrowed.
Why was Jeremy behaving so strangely? What was he angry about?
Jeremyโs eyes turned cold. He glanced at Austin, who returned the look. The director interrupted them.
โDo you like Austin now? Are you together?โ Jeremyโs knuckles were white, his words forced through gritted teeth.
Natalieโs eyes widened. โJeremy, who told you that? Iโm his assistant. I like him, yes, but only because heโs my favorite actor. Itโs not what youโre thinking! Mr. Powell is focused on his career. Such assumptions are unfair to him!โ
Jeremy was probably the only person who would make such a baseless guess.
Jeremyโs grip on the chair loosened. He knew Natalie. If this was her response, she clearly felt nothing for Austin.
