Chapter 120

If heโ€™d known she would complain to Sienna, he never wouldโ€™ve pretended to be so righteous and threatened her.

Sienna blinked, surprised by his reaction. Seeing how flustered he was, she explained, โ€œShe didnโ€™t say much. She just wants a divorce.โ€

Wayne looked at her. โ€œSo, do you support her getting a divorce?โ€

If Sienna said yes, heโ€™d call the Preston family tonight and sever all ties.

Sienna kept her voice steady. โ€œFrom her side of things, I do support her getting a divorce. Sheโ€™s been wronged in this marriage. You canโ€™t judge a relationship just by how it looks on the outside. If Ethan is as amazing and responsible as everyone says, there wouldnโ€™t be all that gossip about Nora.โ€

Wayne was surprised for a second, his mind wandering before he finally understood what she was getting at.

On the surface, Ethan seemed flawless, while his own sister was the one acting like a shrewโ€“so everyone just assumed Nora couldnโ€™t keep her place in the marriage.

But Siennaโ€™s words hit the nail on the head. If Ethan cherished Nora and never let her suffer, how could she end up being labeled as jealous and unreasonable?

โ€œGot it, Sienna. Just waitโ€“Iโ€™m heading over to the Preston family later, and Iโ€™m going to beat the crap out of that bastard Ethan,โ€ Wayne said.

Heโ€™d make damn sure Ethan understood what happened to anyone who messed with Nora. Sure, she might be a walking disasterโ€“scatterbrained, hopeless at love, constantly tripping over her own heartโ€“but she was blood. His blood. And that meant her pain belonged to him alone to bear.

โ€œBy the way, did Nora say anything else to you?โ€ Wayne asked, looking at her cautiously.

Sienna thought for a moment, a hint of hesitation flickering in her cool, detached eyes. โ€œYou mean the part where she told me to toss a hundred bucks your way just to embarrass you!โ€

Wayne fell silent. โ€˜Figures, she is always running her mouth. She totally trashed my image. Bet she called me cheap and selfish, too. Of course she did!โ€™ he thought bitterly.

He gave her millions every month, never heard a word about that. All those jewels and fancy gifts ended up in her hands, and she never mentioned it. But the one time he handed her a hundred bucks, suddenly, he was the villain.

He awkwardly explained, โ€œSienna, donโ€™t get the wrong idea. I was just joking around with Nora.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t worry, I know what you mean,โ€ Sienna replied.

Just then, Lana approached and murmured something in her ear. With a quick nod, Sienna rose from her seat. โ€œWayne, excuse me. Somethingโ€™s come up that requires my attention.โ€

โ€œOf course,โ€ Wayne replied smoothly. โ€œYou know where to find me if you need backup.โ€ Sienna offered him a brief, appreciative smile before following Lana out.

Meanwhile, Winifred had slipped in disguised as a cleaning lady. She ducked into a room, changed swiftly into a serverโ€™s uniform, pulled on a mask, and rolled a food cart out like she belonged there.

After a quick scan of the people nearby, she stepped into the elevator, pulled out the keycard sheโ€™d prepared in advance, and rode straight up to the top floorโ€“smooth as could be.

Once she spotted her target, she casually made her way over, pretending to trip and spilling a drink all over him. While the man was busy losing his temper and cursing her out, the knockout gas sheโ€™d released into the air started to kick in.

As the manโ€™s shouts grew sluggish and his knees buckled, Winifred put on her sweetest voice and said, โ€œSir, why donโ€™t you head back to your room! I can help you change into something clean.โ€

The man nodded, too out of it to argue, and followed her away. The people around them did not suspect a thing.

Once they were inside, Winifred slammed the door shut and, without warning, jabbed a syringe into the manโ€™s back. He collapsed instantly. After double-checking that he matched the guy in her files, she didnโ€™t even blinkโ€“she grabbed his leg and snapped it with a brutal twist. The man let out a muffled groan before blacking out completely.

After wiping up the blood, Ryanโ€“disguised as a bodyguardโ€“hurried in, helped the man up, and escorted him out. They took the elevator down and after making sure they were on the right floor by the stairwell, Ryan was just about to push him down when someone came over.

โ€œHey, Isnโ€™t this Mr. Lee! Already wasted? Man, your drinking skills are seriously lacking!โ€
