Chapter 129

Theodora knew she was in no position to argue. Normally, sheโ€™d never have gotten anywhere near Lydia. If it hadnโ€™t been for Sienna, she wouldnโ€™t have even made it inside today.

โ€œEveryone gets what they want. You all know Lydia is dead. This place is mine now. I can let you leave in one piece,โ€ Theodora said, trying to sound unfazed.

Reno slammed her foot into her chest. โ€œBold words. My boss could wipe this whole place out today if she wanted! What makes you think you have the right to say that to my boss?โ€

Theodora crashed to the floor, coughing hard, realizing Sienna was way out of her league.

Sienna nodded at Lana, signaling her to hand the dagger to Winifred. โ€œIf you want revenge, go ahead. Whoever laid a hand on you, make them pay the price.โ€

Winifred stepped up to Lydia, staring down at the woman who had haunted her nightmares for years. Her eyes burned red with fury as she plunged the dagger into Lydiaโ€™s body. Then Winifred spun around, her gaze locking onto the woman who had beaten her earlier.

The woman recoiled in terror, trying to run, but Sienna shot her in the leg, dropping her to the floor. Winifred strode over and slashed a deep line across her face with the dagger.

Winifred glanced at Sienna, her eyes full of complicated emotions, unsure how to even face her.

Sienna noticed her awkwardness and deliberately looked away, turning to leave. Winifred paused for a moment, then immediately chased after her.

Lana and Reno took care of everyone else, leaving only Theodora alive โ€“ waiting to see what Sienna would decide to do with her.

Winifred thought she was going to die here, but unexpectedly, Sienna showed up. She wanted to ask Sienna why she came to save her, but what came out instead was a different tone. โ€œSienna, who the hell asked you to save me?โ€ Winifred snapped.

Sienna was just about to say something when a blade came whistling toward them. Winifred tried to dodge, but there was no time.

In that moment, Sienna grabbed Winifredโ€™s wrist and pulled her into her arms. The hidden weapon slashed across Siennaโ€™s arm instead.

Lana dashed out and took out the attacker with a single strike. โ€œMiss Sienna, youโ€™re hurt! We need to get you to the hospital.โ€

Winifred stood there in a daze, her heart pounding wildly in her ears. This embrace felt so familiar, like sheโ€™d been pulled straight back ten years.

When Winifred heard that Sienna was injured, her pupils trembled sharply. She turned her head, saw the blood on Siennaโ€™s arm, and quickly pulled herself out of her embrace.

โ€œWho asked you to save me? Stop acting like youโ€™re some kind of hero. You think Iโ€™m going to thank you for this? Well, I wonโ€™t. Donโ€™t even dream about it," Winifred snapped, her voice shaking with anger.

Her eyes reddened as she stared at Siennaโ€™s injured arm, her entire body tensing, fists clenched. Winifred couldnโ€™t accept that Sienna was hurt because Sienna had tried to save her.

Sienna went along with her words, her voice soft. โ€œI donโ€™t need your gratitude. I chose to do this, Winifred. Iโ€™m sorry.โ€

Those words hit Winifred like something slammed into her chest. Siennaโ€™s apology made her unable to hold back her tears any longer.

Winifred shoved Sienna away, her voice hoarse with pain. โ€œI will never forgive you! Never!โ€ She turned and ran off into the night, vanishing into the darkness.

โ€œMiss Siennaโ€ฆโ€ Lana looked toward the direction Winifred ran off.

โ€œTell Reno to protect her. Make sure nothing happens to her,โ€ Sienna said, her tone unwavering.

โ€œYes, Miss Sienna. But your armโ€“seriously, we should really get you to the hospital right now,โ€ Lana urged.

Sienna shook her head. โ€œItโ€™s poisoned. Get me an antidote. Go investigate the person who attacked me. He was definitely after me.โ€

โ€œMiss Sienna,โ€ Lana nodded.

Sienna turned her gaze to the building behind her, her eyes icy. In the next instant, a deafening explosion rocked the air โ€“ flames shot skyward, and the whole building was swallowed by a sea of fire.
