Chapter 151

โ€œAre you ladies here for tattoos too? Feel free to check out the designsโ€“if you see anything you like, we can make it happen for you,โ€ the tattoo artist offered.

โ€œThanks, but we donโ€™t need any,โ€ Lana replied politely.

Winifred glanced at Sienna, then lounged in her chair with her legs crossed. โ€œWhatโ€™s it to you? I like frogs. Canโ€™t I get a frog tattoo if I want?โ€

Sienna said helplessly, โ€œSure, but are you sure you really want that? Two bright green frogs on your armโ€ฆ doesnโ€™t really seem like your vibe, does it?โ€ A faint smile played at her lips.

Winifred pictured two croaking frogs on her arm and felt goosebumps rising all over her skin.

โ€˜Ugh. Frogs really donโ€™t suit me at all,โ€™ Winifred admitted inwardly.

With a hissing sound, Winifredโ€™s little black snake had somehow slipped out and was now flicking its tongue at Sienna, craning its neck toward her.

Sienna froze for a moment, then snapped back to herself. She bent down, reached out her hand, and called softly, โ€œLizzy, is that you?โ€

The black snake nuzzled against her palm. This was the snake Sienna had bought for Winifred as a twelfth birthday gift. Who wouldโ€™ve thought it was still around?

Winifred watched as her pet snake wrapped itself tightly around Siennaโ€™s hand, refusing to let go. โ€˜Ungrateful little traitor,โ€™ she thought, โ€˜After all these years, and this is how you repay me? Still so happy to see the liar who left you for ten years?โ€™

โ€˜How pathetic,โ€™ Winifred thought, not sure if she was talking about the snake or herself.

The tattoo artist, sensing there was more going on between Little Witch and the pretty lady than met the eye, asked curiously, โ€œDo you two know each other?โ€

โ€œYeah, Iโ€™m her sister,โ€ Sienna replied.

The tattoo artist sucked in a sharp breath. โ€˜Oh my, so sheโ€™s Little Witchโ€™s guardian!โ€™

No wonder heโ€™d felt a chill the moment she walked in. So many students loved hanging out at his shop, and every time, their parents would barge in, glare daggers at him, and drag their kids away after a harsh warning.

โ€˜Running a business really isnโ€™t easy, huh?โ€™ he thought.

Laura was genuinely surprisedโ€“she never realized Winifred had any family at all. All this time, sheโ€™d just assumed Winifred was an orphan, just like Ryan.

โ€œAre you still gonna get a tattoo now?โ€ Sienna asked.

Winifred blurted out without thinking, โ€œWhat, you got a problem with that?โ€

Sienna sat down casually. โ€œIโ€™m not really into tattoos myself, but if you want one, I can supervise.โ€

It sounded like a harmless, offhand comment, but for some reason, it made Winifred feel a sense of pressure that seemed to come from deep in her bloodline.

Sienna was technically agreeing, but her expression basically said, โ€œGo ahead, try it if you dare.โ€

โ€œWhy do you care whether I want it or not?โ€ Winifred shot back, refusing to admitโ€“even to herselfโ€“that she felt a little intimidated.

She let out a cold snort, stood up, and reached for Lizzy in Siennaโ€™s hand, but the little black snake stubbornly refused to let go of Sienna.

No matter how hard Winifred tried to pry it off, the snake wouldnโ€™t budge. โ€œUngrateful little thing. All those years for nothing,โ€ she grumbled, then huffed and stomped out.

Sienna gave the snakeโ€™s head a gentle pat, then got up and left.

The bald tattoo artist stood there, completely dumbfounded. โ€˜Wait, soโ€ฆ no frog tattoo after all? The little witch actually has someone sheโ€™s afraid of? Now thatโ€™s something you donโ€™t see every day!โ€™ he thought.

โ€œHey, kid! Hand over the candyโ€“unless you want me to get rough!โ€ Winifred barked, stomping up to a little boy and sticking out her hand.

โ€œMy mom bought this for me! Iโ€™m not giving it to you,โ€ the boy protested stubbornly.

โ€œToo bad! Give me one, or Iโ€™ll smack your butt so hard youโ€™ll be seeing stars,โ€ Winifred threatened, not backing down.

โ€œNo, please, Little Witch! Here, take it!โ€ the boy whimpered, quickly surrendering a piece of candy.

Winifred snatched the candy. โ€œAnd if I catch you picking on Ginger again, Iโ€™m taking your whole stash next time.โ€

The little boy ran off, sobbing. Winifred turned around and found herself faceโ€“toโ€“face with Siennaโ€™s icy stare. She almost dropped the candy in her hand, feeling a sudden pang of guilt.

Instinctively, she hid it behind her backโ€“then caught herself. โ€˜Wait, why am I even feeling guilty? Like Sienna can tell me what to do,โ€™ she thought stubbornly.

Then, she unwrapped the candy and tossed it into her mouth, only to nearly spit it out at the shockingly sour lemon flavor.
