Chapter 159

โ€œWhat a coincidence, Mr. Bayer. How have you been? About the SIE Corporation deal, sorry, but we beat you to it. Donโ€™t be too upset, though. Thatโ€™s just how business works, right?โ€ A man in a sharp suit, holding a glass of red wine, stood in front of Calvin, looking at him with a broad smile.

Calvin, sitting in his wheelchair, replied calmly, โ€œYeah.โ€

His answer clearly got under John Lambertโ€™s skin, and John kept pushing. โ€œMr. Bayer, letโ€™s be real โ€“ guys missing a few parts just canโ€™t handle real business, can they! You had that deal in the bag, and now itโ€™s gone just like that. Honestly, I almost feel bad for your company.โ€

Calvin stayed completely unfazed, his face unreadable. โ€œThanks.โ€

John yelled, โ€œHey! Calvin Bayer, what are you still acting all high and mighty for? Do you really think youโ€™re still the same Mr. Bayer you used to be?

โ€œNow youโ€™re just a cripple. I have no idea where you get the nerve to pretend like everythingโ€™s still the way it used to be.

โ€œIf youโ€™d just teamed up with me back then, things wouldnโ€™t have turned out like this. Why are you so damn stubborn?โ€

Calvin just said flatly, โ€œMr. Lambert, if thereโ€™s nothing else, Iโ€™ll excuse myself.โ€

John wouldnโ€™t give up. โ€œWait! Calvin Bayer. Iโ€™m asking you again โ€“ are you going to let me invest in that tech partnership or not?โ€

Calvinโ€™s gaze grew cold and sharp, his tone stern. โ€œYouโ€™d better watch yourself.โ€

John was completely agitated. โ€œCalvin Bayer! With the way things are for your family now, you canโ€™t possibly hold onto this. Why not let everyone make a buck together! Weโ€™re businessmen โ€“ who cares about morals, right? So what if my stuffโ€™s got a few issues! Itโ€™s not like anyoneโ€™s dying! Why are you acting all high and mighty?โ€

Calvin replied, โ€œGod is watching everything we do.โ€

Johnโ€™s face twisted with vicious anger. โ€œOh, piss off! Calvin Bayer, you totally deserve to be a cripple! Your brotherโ€™s lost his mind, your sister killed herself โ€“ serves you all right! The whole Bayer familyโ€ฆโ€

Before he could finish, a sharp scream tore through the air. The wrist he was pointing at Calvin was twisted and broken with a sickening crack, right before everyoneโ€™s eyes.

Johnโ€™s eyes went wide. โ€œSon of a bitch! How dare you hurt me!โ€

Siennaโ€™s gaze was icy cold, her whole presence radiating a chilling aura. โ€œLana, drag him out and break his legs.โ€

โ€œYes, Miss Sienna,โ€ Lana replied respectfully.

The place went dead silent. It wasnโ€™t until Wayne started clapping that the crowd dared to make a sound again.

Nobody wanted to mess with Sienna โ€“ she was the fastest rising star in the business world, now standing toe-to-toe with the top five companies. Sheโ€™d shot straight to the top, leaving all the old players in the dust.

Not to mention, rumor had it that Sienna had the mighty SIE Corporation backing her up.

When Mr. Lambert caught sight of Sienna, his eyes widened sharply, his hand trembling as he gripped it in disbelief. Itโ€™s her, he thought, stunned.

โ€œUncle Calvin, letโ€™s go talk somewhere else,โ€ Sienna said, stepping forward to wheel his wheelchair. That simple gesture made it clear just how close she was to the Bayer family.

Calvinโ€™s eyes welled up with tears, his voice thick with emotion. โ€œWhat did you just call me?โ€

Sienna led him to a quiet spot, then leaned down to look him in the eye. โ€œUncle Calvin.โ€

โ€œAlright?โ€ Calvin called out, his heart overflowing with joy. He never imagined heโ€™d get to hear her call him โ€˜Uncleโ€™ again in this lifetime.

He reached out and gently patted her head. โ€œSienna, yeah. Iโ€™m your uncle.โ€

He could never forgive himself for what heโ€™d done to Selina. She went to her grave never forgiving him, making sure her children had nothing to do with the Bayer family.

โ€œUncle Calvin, itโ€™s me. Iโ€™m sorry I didnโ€™t come sooner.โ€ Sienna couldnโ€™t help but be moved.

Selinaโ€™s sudden passing had left her with so much on her shoulders that she just couldnโ€™t handle it all, so a lot of things got misunderstood along the way.
