Chapter 194
Sienna smiled faintly. “Sure, go ahead.”
Nora asked cautiously, “Sienna, did my brother confess his feelings to you tonight?”
‘Of course she’d ask about that,’ Sienna thought. ‘It would be weird if she didn’t.’
“Okay,” Sienna replied.
“Holy crap! Seriously? My brother, that old foil, actually confessed to you? Where did it happen? Were there flowers? Was it all romantic and stuff, like in the movies?” Nora blurted out.
Sienna was kind of at a loss for words. Nora just got more and more hyped, her mind running wild with all sorts of dramatic scenarios. Then she remembered Wayne’s miserable face earlier. ‘Wait, did he get rejected?’ she wondered.
“Wait for me. I’m coming over!” Nora said, hanging up in a hurry and dashing out the door to find Sienna.
‘Sienna getting confessed to? How could I possibly miss out on this kind of juicy gossip. As for Wayne, he was basically irrelevant. What I really cared about was Sienna’s feelings,’ Nora thought to herself.
Nora’s mom watched her daughter dash out in a hurry, pressing her fingers to her brow in exasperation.
Wayne stared at the photo of Sienna on his phone, his fingers gently tracing her youthful, breathtaking beauty on the screen. Sienna, he thought.
“I backed down once because of another man, but this time, I’m not running away. Not again. Even if my chances are only one in ten, I’m still going to fight for it.”
Winifred and Amber were heading to Sienna’s room with their pillows, about to knock, when Nora suddenly burst in, calling out, “Enna! Enna!”
Hearing the commotion, Sienna came out and reminded Ebert that if Nora showed up, he didn’t need to stop her.
“Nora,” Sienna greeted her.
“Enna, I have a million things I want to ask you. Come on, let’s have a sleepover tonight,” Nora said excitedly.
Winifred and Amber exchanged glances and could see the annoyance in each other’s eyes.
“No way!” Amber protested immediately.
‘Who’s she? She thinks she can just swoop in and take my sister?’ Amber thought.
They thought for sure their sister would take their side, but Sienna just smiled gently and said, “I need to talk to Nora tonight, Winifred. Take Amber to bed.”
Nora even reached out and patted each of them on the head. “Goodnight, girls.”
With that, she closed the door behind her. Winifred’s mouth twitched, ‘Sleep in the same room as her? What am I, crazy?’ she thought.
“I’m not sleeping with your…” they two said at the same time, then both huffed and walked off to their own rooms.
As soon as Nora got into the room, she pinned Sienna down on the bed and, with a dead serious face, demanded, “Spill, Sienna. I want every single detail about what happened tonight. Don’t leave out a single word, or I’ll torture it out of you!”
Sienna gave a helpless smile. “Yes, ma’am.”
Nora listened carefully to Sienna’s story, then frowned. “That’s it? No flowers? No romantic setup? He just blurted out ‘I like you?’”
Nora just could not get it. ‘Who confesses like that? Where’s the effort? Where’s the romance?’ she thought, totally baffled.
‘Is my brother brain-damaged or what? Even the densest guy wouldn’t be this clueless,’ she thought.
‘What a poker. No wonder Enna isn't interested in him. He thinks a boring “I like you” is enough to win the girl? He must be dreaming,’ she scoffed.
“We’re adults. No need to beat around the bush. Come on, let’s just get some sleep,” Sienna said.
Nora mumbled, pulling back. She asked in a small, tentative voice, “Enna, are you still thinking about that person?”
