Chapter 210
Josef nodded, thinking of his second uncle in the mental hospital. โAlright, I got it.โ
Meanwhile, seeing that the Hart family still wouldnโt budge, and with his own company teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, his daughter locked up in prison, and his son, Nathan, missing without a trace, Henry Winslow was at his wit's end. And his stubborn old father insisted on throwing a lavish party tomorrow โ utter madness. All they needed to do was figure out how to save the company, not organise a stupid banquet. And to top it all off, they couldnโt even get in touch with Mr. Noir.
โSweetheart, Daddyโs here to see you,โ Henry said, his heart twisting as he saw how worn out and frail his daughter looked. Heโd always spoiled her, and seeing her like this just broke him inside.
โDad, please, get me out of here! I canโt take another day! Theyโre torturing me every day. Please, go talk to my grandpa, beg him to save me, please!โ Sheryl sobbed, her voice shaking with desperation.
Sheryl started whining the moment she saw him, but before Henry could even get a word in, time was up. The guards dragged her away.
Henry stormed out of the prison, slamming his fist into the wall in frustration. Money! Damn it, itโs always about money! Henry cursed inwardly, his mind boiling with rage. โSienna, you destroyed my family. If we go down, Iโll make sure your family burns with us!โ
Suddenly, an idea struck him. You sent your father to a mental hospital. Just wait. Iโm going to make sure everyone turns on you and calls you the most heartless daughter out there, Henry thought viciously. Iโm going to make you pay back ten times over for what youโve done!
Aiden was shocked when Henry appeared. โMr. Winslow? What brings you here?โ
When Henry saw how gaunt and sickly Aiden looked, he grew even more certain he could stir up a storm of online hate against Sienna. โMr. Hart, long time no see. Looks like life hasnโt been treating you well here. What if I told you Iโve got a deal you might like?โ Henry said, sizing him up.
Aiden listened quietly, his eyes full of struggle and hesitation. Henry continued to coax him, โMr. Hart, I really feel for you. The Hart Corporation bears your name, doesnโt it? Youโre the rightful head of the family. And yet, your daughter calls the shots. Or is it really like the rumors say, that youโre too scared to stand up to her?โ
โOf course not! Iโm her father. No matter what, she has to listen to me,โ Aiden replied, his tone firm and certain.
โI see,โ Henry responded.
Fueled by pride, Aiden agreed to Henryโs proposal. But after Henry left, a deep sense of unease crept in. โSienna Hart is ruthless. If she finds out Iโm collaborating with outsiders to expose her, she definitely wonโt let me off easy,โ he thought.
But then he shook his head. โNo matter how ruthless she is, she wouldnโt actually hurt her own father, would she?โ
If this worked, with all the pressure from public opinion, Sienna would have no choice but to release him, and he might even take back control of Hart Corporation. At the very least, he wouldnโt have to come back to this mental hospital and suffer anymore. He wouldnโt have to keep living like this.
โAlright, I agree. Iโll do the interview, Mr. Winslow,โ Aiden said, finally making up his mind.
Having convinced Aiden, Henry swaggered back home, feeling on top of the world. But he had no idea that Sienna Hart already knew everything heโd done.
โNo need,โ Sienna waved her hand. โLet him have his interview; we can deal with Aiden a bit later.โ
