Chapter 237
Before Thorn could finish, Sienna snapped his hand with a brutal crack. Standing there in her slippers, eyes full of murderous intent, she ordered coldly, โDump him in the trash can.โ
โYes, Miss Sienna,โ the bodyguard replied immediately.
Sienna spent the night fending Thom off and showed up at school sporting two dark, puffy circles under her eyes.
Meanwhile, Amber was practically bouncing with excitement in her pink and white dress as she dragged Sienna along to the parent-teacher meeting.
The moment Sienna walked into the classroom, everyone was completely stunned.
โDamn, sheโs gorgeous. So classy too,โ they all thought. โWait, is she really here for Amber?โ
Amber practically had her chin in the air, proudly clinging to Siennaโs arm as if to say, "This is my sister."
The teacher singled out Amber for her incredible progress. Amber walked up to the front of the class with confidence and pride, sharing her study tips and motivational quotes, stuff sheโd been preparing for three whole days.
โFinally, I want to thank my sister,โ Amber said, her voice full of emotion. โWithout her support and encouragement, I couldnโt have made such fast progress.โ
Siennaโs usually cool expression melted into a soft smile, her eyes curving into crescents. She was breathtakingly beautiful, and not a single parent in the room could take their eyes off her.
โMiles, hurry up. I need to find Amber,โ Claire urged, glancing impatiently at her brother, who was dragging his feet behind her.
Miles was moving so slow. If they didnโt get there soon, all the good seats up front would be gone.
โSeriously, what is this school even thinking? Parentโchild activities? Weโre not toddlers.
โAnd now they want the parents to compete? Like Miles would ever lower himself to do something so childish," Claire thought, rolling her eyes.
โAmber?โ Claire called out, practically bouncing with excitement when she saw Sienna. โSienna, youโre here.โ
โHey Claire,โ Sienna replied, flashing her a warm smile.
โAmber, is Sienna joining the competition, too? Why does it have to be archery, and for gold medals, no less? Like anyone actually cares about a couple of shiny coins,โ Claire complained, rolling her eyes.
It was scorching hot out here, and they were just wasting time. Honestly, theyโd be better off just letting the parents wander around the school,โ she thought.
There was absolutely no way Miles was going to take part in this.
Amber looked up at Sienna with big, hopeful eyes. Sienna gently patted her head. โWhatโs up?โ
โSienna, I want a gold medal,โ Amber said, her voice full of longing.
Siennaโs expression softened, her tone warm and affectionate. โAlright, Iโll shoot one down for you.โ
Claire bit down on her sleeve, thinking, โWhy donโt I have a sister like that? Itโs just not fair."
Not giving up yet, Claire glanced back and saw Miles still way off in the distance, completely absorbed in a work call.
It really hurts more when you compare yourself to others, Claire thought, feeling a wave of frustration and jealousy.
โWhatโs wrong? Why are you tearing up?โ Miles asked, walking up to Claire and noticing her red eyes and the way she was biting her lip.
โDid someone bully you?โ he asked, his voice full of concern.
Claire pushed him away. โWho else? Itโs you, Miles. I donโt care, but you have to join the competition, or Iโll tell Mom and Dad on you.โ
She couldnโt stand the thought of being the only one without a gold medal. That would be so humiliating. She wanted one.
Miles frowned. โDidnโt you say you didnโt want to compete anymore? My assistantโs already waiting outside for me.โ
โCanโt I have some fun now? Even Sienna is joining," Claire shot back.
Miles glanced over at the crowd, and sure enough, there was Sienna, absolutely dazzling. โAlright,โ he agreed without hesitation.
โYou canโt say no. Youโre here to support me at the parentโteacher meeting, so you have to wait. What? Did you just say yes?โ Claire blurted out, totally caught off guard.
Claire was left with a giant question mark over her head, completely stunned and confused.
โSince when was he this easy to talk into things? Wait? I didnโt even have to sweet-talk him this time?โ Claire thought, totally stunned.
