Chapter 239

Sienna grabbed three arrows at once, and as Milesโ€™s eyes widened in disbelief, she released them all in a single, fluid motion. Three crisp clangs echoed through the air, and all three gold medals dropped instantly at the sound.

Before Miles could even react, Sienna unleashed another volley, three arrows at a time, three times in a row, taking down the remaining nine gold medals with flawless precision. She deliberately left the very last one for Miles.

She turned to look at him, a confident glint in her eyes. โ€œSo, Miles, howโ€™s my little hobby? Not too shabby, right?โ€

Miles took down the last gold medal and set his bow aside, thinking, "If I had to describe her in one word, it would be unstoppable; she outshines even the blazing sun."

โ€œMiss Hart, standing next to you, all my talk about winning trophies just makes me look silly. I canโ€™t help but feel a bit embarrassed youโ€™ve really shown me up,โ€ Miles said with a wry, self-deprecating smile.

The epic archery showdown between the two was caught on camera and uploaded online, and soon the whole internet was shipping them hard as a couple.

Amber jumped up and yelled at the top of her lungs, โ€œThatโ€™s my sister! She won all the medals. My sister is seriously awesome!โ€

The crowd burst into wild applause, and with all her classmates looking on with envy, jealousy, and awe, Amber stuffed her backpack full of gold medals. It took every ounce of strength she had just to lug it onto her back.

And of course, there was Claire, too. She and Amber totally became the stars of the parent-child event.

At the hospital, Calvin was wheeled into the operating room. Zane ran a hand through his hair, checked his reflection in the mirror, and then clapped Josef on the shoulder.

โ€œHey, kid, relax. Itโ€™s just a simple procedure for your dad; heโ€™ll be out in three hours tops. Just sit tight,โ€ Zane said.

Josef nodded, giving the guy a skeptical once-over. He didnโ€™t exactly scream reliability, but since Sienna had found him, it should be fine. He just looked a little too young, and that was all.

โ€œLetโ€™s begin the surgery,โ€ Zane said.

After putting the patient under anesthesia, Iris picked up her tools, but before she could start, Zaneโ€™s voice rang out. โ€œHold on, who are you?"

Iris paused, turning around to see a stranger. โ€œI was about to ask you the same thing. This is my OR. Why are you barging in here?โ€

Zaneโ€™s mouth twitched, but since he was new here, he forced himself to explain patiently. โ€œHey, youโ€™ve got it all mixed up.

"This is my patient. Iโ€™m the one supposed to do the surgery. Where did you come from? Youโ€™re not the assistant I picked.โ€

Iris snapped, clearly irritated, โ€œDo you even know who I am? This surgery is mine. If you have a problem, go talk to the director yourself!โ€

Zane folded his arms, looking more than a little annoyed. โ€œWhy should I go to the director? Is the director your mom or your dad or something? Iโ€™m the doctor the patientโ€™s family personally picked.

โ€œWho exactly are you! If you donโ€™t explain yourself, Iโ€™m calling the cops. You canโ€™t just suddenly show up, barge into my OR, and try to do surgery!"

โ€œLook closely. Iโ€™m a doctor,โ€ Iris snapped. With clear disgust on her face, she impatiently pulled out her ID badge and shoved it in front.

Zane bent down to take a look. "Iris? The name rings a bell, but whatโ€™s that got to do with me?" he wondered. "This surgery was handed to me by Sienna. What business does Iris have barging in here?โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t care if youโ€™re a doctor or not. This is my patient, and you have no right to meddle. Get out,โ€ Zane said, his tone icy.

"Which school did this woman even graduate from? Sheโ€™s got zero professionalism. If I wasnโ€™t trying to keep it classy, Iโ€™d have already put her in her place," Zane thought.
