Chapter 258
Thorn rolled his eyes at Wayne. โBullshit. Who gave you the nerve to call yourself family? If anyone here is family, itโs me and her. As for you, youโre just some random โWhinerโ that popped up out of nowhere.โ
Hearing the word โWhiner,โ Nora couldnโt hold back a snort of laughter. โWhiner. Wayne, I think that nickname is perfect for you. It really fits your style.โ
With a cold look on his face, Wayne brushed Nora aside and strode straight over to Sienna. He showed the food containers in his hands. โSienna, you must be hungry. Come on, try these. I made them just the way you like. I guess youโll love them.โ
Wayne was dressed in a dark red shirt, and his usually elegant face was now tinged with a hint of wild allure by the color. He opened the food containers and took out the cutlery.
โThanks, Wayne. I couldnโt have handled Winifredโs situation without your help,โ Sienna said.
Wayne replied, โCome on, Sienna, no need to be so polite with me. Let me cut that up for you.โ
Thorn stormed over and shoved Wayne aside. โI brought you fruit. Got all kinds here. Take your pick.โ As he spoke, Thorn started pulling out his stuff in no time.
To Siennaโs surprise, he even brought a ton of daily necessities. โHold on, what are these?โ Sienna asked.
โI thought about it, and for the sake of your healthโso you can get better and leave the hospital soonโIโve decided to stay and be your hospital roommate,โ Thorn said.
Sienna and the others were left speechless.
Wayne was about to explode from Thornโs shamelessness. โThorn, are you out of your damn mind? Who said you could stay here with Sienna? The farther you get, the betterโjust get lost!โ
Thorn shot back without missing a beat. โWayne, why canโt I stay? Whatโs it to you if I do? If anyone needs to leave, itโs you.โ
โYouโฆโ Wayne was so furious he couldnโt even get the words out.
Wayne and Thorn started bickering, trading insults one after another, while Nora just stared in shock. Sheโd never seen Wayne go off on someone like this before.
Sienna kept her cool and quietly ate her food, while Vivian and Amber headed across the hall to check in on Winifred.
When Amber saw Winifred lying there, covered in tubes with only the steady beeping of the machines, her eyes turned red with tears. She pressed her hands against the glass and whispered so softly that only she could hear, โWinifred, you better not die. I donโt blame you anymore. As long as you wake up, I promise I wonโt badmouth you behind your back ever again.โ
The moment Amber heard about the accident, a deep fear took root in her heart. The whole way here, her mind kept running wildโif Winifred never woke up, sheโd be heartbroken, guilty, and really sad.
But Amber thought she really did dislike Winifredโshe was unreasonable, always thought she was right, and constantly bullied Amber. Amber couldnโt understand why she was afraid.
Vivian patted Amber on the shoulder, comforting her. โCome on, Winifredโll be fine. Sheโll wake up in a few days.โ
Amber stubbornly said, โI donโt care when she wakes up.โ
With that, Amber turned and walked away, still remembering how Vivian had plotted against her just yesterday.
Vivian shook her head with a sigh. With Sienna injured, all the company affairs had fallen to her. But Vivian was no longer the person she used to beโnow, she was fully capable of holding up Hart Corporation on her own.
โSienna, just rest up and leave everything to me,โ Vivian said.
As Vivian was leaving the hospital, she bumped into Nathan. The moment he spotted her, he called out, โVivian, what brings you to the hospital? Did you get hurt or something?โ
โNope. What about you? Why are you here?โ Vivian asked, noticing how lively and full of energy Nathan lookedโdefinitely not like someone who was sick.
