Chapter 269

Finn Eaton stood up and glanced outside. There were a lot of people out there. "Do they really think the Eaton family is that easy to mess with?" he scoffed inwardly. "Move!"

As soon as he gave the order, the boats closing in on them erupted into flames, lighting up the pitch-black sea night with a dazzling display.

Screams echoed across the water, but in the end, all they could do was become food for the fishes.

"Be careful, there are people lying in wait underwater. Send someone down to take care of them. I didn't expect Finn to pull off something like this, but tonight, he's as good as mine," the leader said coldly.

The leader was a thin, middle-aged man with cloudy eyes. He watched Finn's boat with keen interest.

"As you wish."

Evan Ash rushed over to Finn. "Mr. Eaton, all our men underwater have been wiped out. Their boats are getting closer, and they're fully armed."

"Evan, listen to me. You take that chest and get out of here. These jade ores arenโ€™t worth muchโ€”Iโ€™ll handle them. You just make sure that chest gets away safely. Iโ€™ll draw their attention."

Evan shook his head. "No, I canโ€™t let you stay here and take the risk. Let me slayโ€”"

"Evan, thatโ€™s an order. Are you planning to disobey me? Hurry up and take the goodsโ€”get out of here."

Finn knew that if he let Evan stay, thereโ€™s no way heโ€™d make it out alive. Iโ€™m a member of the Eaton family, he thought. Theyโ€™re only after the goodsโ€”they wouldnโ€™t dare to take my life. Worst case, I will just lose those jade ores.

"Yes, Mr. Eaton." Evan hurried over to move the goods. Just to be sure, he opened the boxโ€”only to find that every single artifact was gone.

His face drained of color, sweat soaking his back as he rushed to report to Finn.

Finnโ€™s pupils contracted sharply. "Where are the goods?"

Evan was shaking, his voice barely steady, "Mr. Eaton, I handled everything myself. I checked it all so carefully. Now I have no idea how this happened."

He just wanted to crawl into a hole and die. He knew exactly how much Finn had sacrificed for these artifacts, and yet, at the most critical moment, everything had vanished.

Finn forced himself to calm down. "Did anyone come to see me today?"

Evan wiped the sweat from his forehead. Suddenly, he remembered. "Yes! Someone from Umbrella Organizationโ€”the biggest clan in Pyresonโ€”came to see you. Since weโ€™re partners, I let my guard down. They only stayed for three minutes. I told them you were busy and asked them to wait, but they got a call and left in a hurry. I swear I wasnโ€™t hiding anythingโ€”I just completely forgot. Itโ€™s all my fault. Just kill me, Iโ€™ve let you down."

Heโ€™d been running himself ragged all afternoon, packing up the goods. With people betraying them earlier, they were short-handed, so he had to do everything in person.

Umbrella Organization had gathered the worldโ€™s top hackers, held the global information network in their hands, and on top of that, they were the largest assassin syndicate on the planet. They were old allies of the Eaton family, with a partnership that ran deep and wide.

"So itโ€™s Hazel Noir from Umbrella Organization who did all this." Finn didnโ€™t have time to thinkโ€”he immediately called the Darkfield family, but his signal was jammed.

"Mr. Eaton, theyโ€™re about to board the ship!" A man dragged his injured leg over to report.

Evan was at a loss. "Mr. Eaton, as long as youโ€™re alive, thereโ€™s always hope. Since the goods are already gone, you should get out of here fast!"

To have the goods stolen right under their noses, without being noticedโ€”if word got out, theyโ€™d completely lose face.

Finn let out a sigh, stepped up to the top deck, and stared at the boats swarming in from every direction. "Blow it all to hell. If we canโ€™t have it, then no one gets it."

How did Hazel catch on to what I was doing? he wondered. Why did she steal those artifacts? Is she planning to threaten the Eaton family, or does she have some other scheme in mind?

"Miss Hart, looks like the Eaton family is planning to blow up the whole ship. They probably know weโ€™ve already moved the goods. What should we do?"

Sienna Hart, wearing a mask, stood in the sea breeze, her black dress billowing gently around her. As flames erupted across the water, she looked like a dark messenger emerging from the fire.

"Leave no one alive," she said coldly.

She quietly admired the flames and the blood splattering in the firelight, finding the scene almost breathtaking.

Finn ordered his men to bring out the bombs, and just as they were about to set them down, screams erupted all around them. Every boat around them was blown to pieces in a blaze of fire.

"Mr. Eaton, I think someone just came to save us," Evan said.

Finn stayed silent. Not far away, a lavish ship stood out in the darkness.

The middle-aged man, who had been so sure of victory, was caught completely off guard by the sudden ambush from behind. His men were being wiped out in an instant.

"Whoโ€™s doing this? Fight back and kill them all!"

Driven to rage and panic, he was just about to get everything he wantedโ€”only to have it snatched away at the last second.

"Weโ€™ve got less than ten guys left. Theyโ€™d already slipped into our ranks and we didnโ€™t even notice. We need to get out of here before itโ€™s too late!" one of his men shouted.

What kind of power is this, able to blend in without a trace and know everything about us? he thought, a cold sweat crawling up his spine.

"Damn it, get us out of here! If I ever find out who they are, theyโ€™re dead!" he snarled, his voice shaking with rage.

Lana boarded their ship, quickly tracking down the middle-aged manโ€™s location, intending to finish him off once and for all. However, they still managed to jump into the sea and get away.

"Miss Hart, everyoneโ€™s been taken care of," Lana reported.

Finn and Evan stared in shock at the empty sea. In less than ten minutes, it was like those people had been wiped off the face of the earth.

Who the hell are these people, to have such overwhelming power? Finn wondered, a chill running down his spine.

Evanโ€™s voice was shaky. "Mr. Eaton, they donโ€™t look like anyone from our family, do they?"

The attack happened so fastโ€”thereโ€™s no way our people couldโ€™ve made it here this quickly. Did they really come to save Finn, or were they just collateral damage? What if they were actually their real target!

Finnโ€™s face grew grim, tension tightening his features. "Itโ€™s Umbrella Organization."

Evan stared in disbelief. "Mr. Eaton, didnโ€™t the goods already end up in their hands? Why would they come back again? Could it be theyโ€™re actually after these jade ores?"

Finn was gentle and elegant, the very picture of a graceful young masterโ€”not a hint of panic on his face.

"Theyโ€™re here for me. Letโ€™s welcome our guests," he said, his tone calm and unflinching.

Hazel Noir, what kind of game are you playing? What are you really after? Finn wondered, his mind racing.
