Chapter 49
Dash's back was slick with cold sweat, his face pale. When he saw the red potion being put away, he slumped to the ground like a deflated rag doll, all strength drained from him.
Dash stammered, "A few years ago, we kidnapped Vivian. We knew she was the heiress of the Hart Corporation, but we didnโt do anything too extreme to her. Ah-"
Dash kept hemming and hawing. Reno finally lost her patience and drove her knife straight into the back of Dashโs hand.
Reno growled, "I don't think he wants to talk, Miss Enna. Should I just finish him off?"
Upon seeing that this was no bluff, panic set in among the remaining thugs. The men all started talking over each other in a panicked rush.
"We tortured her. We took off all her clothes and tied her to a chair."
"With stun batons, some toys, and whips-"
"W-we even recorded videos."
Siennaโs eyes burned crimson as she charged forward, her stiletto heel stomping down mercilessly on Dashโs groin and grinding with brutal force. "Give me the video!"
Dash was writhing in agony, desperate just to stay alive. Nothing else mattered.
"Everythingโs in the camera inside the cabinet," Dash gasped out desperately.
Reno opened the cabinet to find it stuffed with cameras and memory cards. Beneath them lay a thick stack of photos, nothing but explicit images of young girls, their privacy shamelessly violated.
No one could stay calm seeing this.
Reno roared furiously, "You filthy scum!"
Sienna took the camera labeled "Vivian" with trembling hands. As she started to open it, Lana reached out and placed her hand over Siennaโs gloved one. Even through the fabric, she could feel Siennaโs ice-cold fingers.
Lana gently placed her hand over Siennaโs, "Miss Enna, save it for later."
Lana thought to herself, "If Miss Enna watches from here, Iโm afraid she might lose control and kill them. These scumbags arenโt even worth her personal attention."
Sienna's crimson glare gradually cooled as she demanded coldly, "Who ordered you to kidnap Vivian?"
He continued, "I don't know who it was," Dash stammered. "Some masked person found me on a rainy night, handed me 30 thousand dollars, and told me to teach Vivian a lesson."
"I couldn't even tell if it was a man or a woman. Then this morning, when I got home, there was another 15,000 dollars on my table, along with a note telling me to make trouble for Vivian."
Sienna turned to leave, her voice icy. "Lana, make them suffer a fate worse than death."
"Understood, Miss Enna," Lana nodded.
As Sienna's car passed by a police cruiser, Reno, driving upfront, asked, "Miss Enna, are we heading to the hospital?"
Sienna finally opened the camera and saw its horrifying contents.
A few hours later, she lit a cigarette and stood at the hospital entrance, the night wrapping around her. Beside the car, she looked especially solitary and cold, the crimson ember of her cigarette flickering in the darkness as Reno waited quietly behind her.
Only after Sienna had finished two cigarettes did Reno cautiously approach her.
Reno said, "Miss Enna, Anya reports that Miss Vivian has regained consciousness and is asking to see you."
"I know," Sienna stubbed out her cigarette, said, and turned to head inside.
Step by step, Sienna entered the ward, each footfall plunging her deeper into the abyss of her torment.
Guilt coiled around her heart like countless black vines, choking its every beat, then snaked down to entangle her limbs, dragging her into a boundless sea of hatred.
Sienna scribed inwardly, "How dare they!"
Sienna fixed Reno with a cold, commanding look. "Reno, handle this."
"Understood, Miss Enna," Reno nodded.
When it came to beating someone up, Reno was the perfect choice. She might not be as versatile as Lana, but dealing with Aiden was well within her capabilities.
Vivian sat still on the hospital bed, knees drawn to her chest. Against her dark hair, her pale face looked almost translucent.
At this moment, her innocent, gentle demeanor made her seem as fragile as a porcelain doll on the verge of shattering.
"Miss Enna, I will go," Anya rose at the sight of Siennaโs return, respectfully said, and discreetly closed the door behind her.
Vivianโs eyes flew wide in shock when she saw Sienna, dressed head-to-toe in black, exuding the commanding presence of a queen of the night.
Vivian was already scrambling to get off the hospital bed in her eagerness.
Sienna reached Vivianโs hospital bed first, and Vivian immediately threw herself into her sisterโs embrace. "Iโve missed you so much, Sienna!"
Silent tears slid down Vivianโs cheeks. Suddenly, lost in thought, she looked up at Sienna and whispered, "Sienna, I think Iโve messed up again."
Sienna lowered her head to look at Vivian, then pulled up a chair and sat down beside her. "Itโs okay, Vivian. I will make it right for you."
Vivianโs face lit up with a touched smile, her eyes glistening with unshed tears, a single droplet clinging to the corner of her lashes.
Sienna pulled out a tissue and gently wiped away Vivianโs tears, bit by bit.
Vivian whispered, her voice trembling. "Sienna, I-I bit my supervisor, Anya. I don't even know what came over me. Am I losing my mind?"
Vivian whispered the last words so faintly that they nearly dissipated into the air.
Sienna heard her and, without a second thought, replied firmly, "No, youโre not. So what if you bit her? Just apologize and itโll be fine."
