Chapter 52
Dawn broke.
Hearing the door open, Sienna snapped out of her daze and looked up. Vivian was already running toward her with a bright smile.
Lana and Reno stepped inside, suppressing their disgust at the sight of the broken man. They swiftly tied him up and hauled him off to the police station. Maybe theyโd even earn a commendation for it.
Vivian sat in the car, gazing at the sunrise outside. Sienna rolled down the window, letting the morning breeze rush in. It playfully lifted Vivianโs hair, setting the strands dancing in the wind.
The eastern horizon glowed with pearly light as a golden ray pierced through the clouds, awakening the entire city as if draped in flowing gold.
The rosy-golden morning light spilled across Vivianโs delicate face. She basked blissfully in its radiant embrace, her whole being immersed in the newborn sunlight.
A medley of mouthwatering aromas wafted into the car, with the smell of freshly baked pie, coffee, bread, and more filling the air.
Vivian couldnโt help but gulp. โSienna, can I have a pie?โ she asked, her eyes shining with anticipation.
A soft glimmer shone in Siennaโs eyes as she gave a faint smile. โOf course.โ
Munching on her pie, Vivian suddenly gasped, โOh no, Sienna. Iโm going to be late.โ
Sienna said, โRelax and eat up. I got you three days off. Just remember to visit Anya tomorrow and apologize.โ
Vivian beamed, โGot it.โ
Jocelyn was about to lose her mind when she returned to the Hart residence.
Her bedroom was gone, the entire house had been completely redecorated beyond recognition, and all her precious designer clothes and handbags had gone up in flames.
Jocelynโs face twisted with rage. โWho gave you the right to do this? Who?โ
Linda fumed as she tattled to Jocelyn. Amber, sitting quietly on the sofa, perked up at the mention of Sienna. A strange glint flickered in her eyes.
Jocelyn barked orders through gritted teeth, โThis room still belongs to me. You lotโmove my luggage in and throw out everything inside.โ
After she spoke, not a single servant moved, as if they hadnโt heard a word she said.
Jocelyn shot a glare at the servants. โFine, just perfect,โ she sneered inwardly. Grabbing her luggage, she marched toward the stairs, only to be blocked by Ebert.
โMiss, the upper floor is reserved for the masters. Guest rooms are on the first floor,โ he said.
Hearing this, Jocelyn flew into a rage and glared daggers at Ebert. โWhat did you just say? Guest room? Iโm the heiress of the Hart family. Get out of my way this instant.โ
Ebert shot her a disdainful glance, thinking, โYou really donโt know your place or how insignificant you truly are. Now that Miss Sienna is back, did you really think you could keep lording it over everyone? Dream on.โ
Linda shrieked, โSheโs my daughter. Move aside. Know your place. Youโre just servants. How dare you block us? Are you looking for trouble? I can fire you in a heartbeat.โ
Ebert retorted coldly, โMy apologies, but I answer only to Miss Sienna. You lack the authority to dismiss me.โ
Linda was so furious her chest was heaving violently. She spat, โYouโyou pack of bootlickers.โ
Of course, at this critical moment, Aiden was not at home.
Jocelyn took a deep breath, composing herself before turning to Ebert with a mocking smile. โAmber is the Hart familyโs daughter. Would you dare stop her too?โ
Ebert remained unfazed and stated calmly, โDoesnโt matter who you are. If Miss Sienna hasnโt given her approval, youโre an outsider. No exceptions.โ
Not even Amber, or Aiden, Siennaโs father, could act without her say-so.
As long as Sienna didnโt acknowledge Amber at all, even if one waved a paternity test in their faces, they wouldnโt even blink.
Jocelynโs face twisted in fury, not expecting that they would look down on them so badly.
Lindaโs face darkened. Anyone could see she was furious.
